Hi I'm Matasia

I am an Idaho girl. I am a Family Consumer Sciences Education major. I'm a student. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest of 5 children which kept my Mom pretty busy. I attended BYU-I as a general studies major after graduating high school. I have a hard time making decisions so I kept swinging from one major to another. In October 2012 my life was changed when President Thomas S Monson lowered the age of missionary service to 19 for sisters. I prayed and knew it was what I needed to do. I served 18 incredible months as a missionary in the Nebraska Omaha mission. Even though it was difficult it was so rewarding. Upon returning home and offering many prayers, I decided to major in Family and Consumer Sciences Education. I hope to one day be a high school teacher.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of His church because I have learned for myself that it is true. This is Christ's gospel. I have learned the purpose of this life and what I can become. I am a daughter of God and He knows and loves me. I know that my Father in Heaven has a plan for me. He wants what is best for me. I know that Jesus Christ is my Redeemer. He atoned for my sins so that I may one day return to my Father's presence. The Book of Mormon is a second witness that Jesus is the Christ. I have closer to my Savior as I read the Book of Mormon. There is a prophet once again upon the Earth who is Christ's mouthpiece. Joseph Smith restored Christ's church once more upon the Earth.

How I live my faith

I live my faith on a day to day basis. We are not asked to be perfect at this very moment. We were given our entire life to practice and learn perfection. We have been given a Savior who has provided us a means of repentance when we fall short. That thought is such a comfort to me. Faith is lived in my daily life as I choose to do my best and then repent. It is finding the courage to try again and again. I find that prayer, studying the scriptures, and attending church give me further strength and resolve to keep trying to reach perfection.

What is the Book of Mormon?

Matasia
The Book of Mormon is a second witness that Jesus Christ is the Savior. It contains the ancient writings of the prophets who lived in ancient America. The Book of Mormon begins in Jerusalem with a prophet named Lehi. It follows his family's departure to America and the civilization that followed. The scriptures contain the writings of the prophets as it follows the righteousness and wickedness of the people. The Book of Mormon holds truth about Heavenly Father's plan for His children and Christ's mission. The Book of Mormon does not replace the Bible but supports it. Show more Show less
