Hi I'm Sabrina Maxwell

Just trying to participate constructively in the universe. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Sabrina - 18 - Jack of all trades, master of none. I was baptized into the LDS church on June 5th, 2004. It is a day I have never forgotten. I am a student of english, art, and music. These three areas are of great significance to me and they (along with the gospel of Jesus Christ) influence my life in extremely powerful ways. I strive to live with an attitude of being both hungry and full (see Philippians 4:5-13). I firmly believe in the gospel's power to change lives for the better.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because nothing else makes sense. This gospel is so whole and complete. It gives life, death, time and eternity real meaning and purpose. It answers life's biggest and heaviest questions ("Who am I?", "Why am I here?", "Where do I go when I die?", etc.) with such satisfaction to my soul that I cannot help but feel of its undeniable truth. The truth makes me free. It fills me with love for life, others, and God. It brings me very real and lasting happiness. "Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." John 8:31-32

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith by serving those around me and trying to love them as Christ would. I love to study the scriptures, especially the Book of Mormon and the New Testament. All the scriptures do is give! They give and give and give... They provide me with perspective, hope, eternal principles, role models, comfort and guidance in time of need, and the companionship of the Holy Ghost. All of this and more. I love reading Paul's epistles and learning from his earnest and eloquent teachings. I love opening them with my friends and hearing their own gospel insights. We often share notes and cross references. The scriptures are a source of nourishment that will continue to feed my heart, mind and soul for the rest of my life. I can't wait to pass this blessing on to my children. I also look forward to the day that I can open the scriptures and see its pages from the perspective of a mother.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Sabrina Maxwell
The fact that we exist at all tells me there is a God. I just can't wrap my head around the bleak and unfeeling idea that we are all "accidents". How could human beings, with all of their unique complexities, likes, dislikes, foibles, emotions and ideas, be a mere result of chance? God is real. He is the literal father of our spirits. He created us in his image, with purpose in mind, and sent us to earth. He wants us to grow, learn, and gain experience here because he loves us. We do not exist to end or to fail, but to succeed gloriously and return to live with our Heavenly Father again. "There seems to be something inside of that resists endings. Why is this? Because we are made of the stuff of Eternity. Endings are not our destiny." - Dieter F. Uchtdorf Show more Show less
