Hi I'm Mikaela

I love the outdoors, reading a good book, and eating good food. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have four siblings, and am an aunt to two adorable kids. I have been studying English at BYU-I, and plan to continue my education after serving an 18 month mission in Thailand, Bangkok. I enjoy rock climbing, kayaking, hiking, reading, drawing, playing the piano, and soaking up the sun. I believe that laughing can cure any sickness, and that optimism is the only way to live.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that I could not be truly happy if I chose not to live this gospel. Everything about this gospel makes sense! I have prayed to know of the truthfulness of this church, and have received my own witness that it is true. I know that this is the church that our Savior Jesus Christ established while he was on earth, and I know that the fullness of it has been restored today. I continue to follow His gospel because this is the only way to be truly happy and return to live with our Heavenly Father and older brother Jesus Christ. I know without a doubt that I can pray about everything and receive my own answers, and I have prayed about this church and Heavenly Father has confirmed to me, through the power of his Holy Spirit, that this is His true church.

How I live my faith

I am an avid believer that in serving those around us, we are serving God. I try to find opportunities to serve everyone around me, every day. I know that God loves everyone, and because I know that, I also try to love everyone. I serve my ward by playing the piano for the hymns we sing every Sunday, and by visiting with and helping the needs of at least three other women in my ward per month. I visit the Temple as often as I can in order to feel the Spirit of our Lord and progress His work. I strive to obey each of the commandments that our Heavenly Father has put in place for our happiness, and I listen to and obey the words of our modern day Prophet. By loving my Savior and my Heavenly Father and obeying them, I am living my faith and trying to become a better person.
