Hi I'm Sierra Thomas

I'm from Jacksonville FL. I want to be a Wedding videographer; served my mission in Knoxville, TN, and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I love to play the piano and sing. (I compose - write my own music). I also make music videos, write poetry and stories, (I have 27 journals!) dance, and love sharing what I believe. I am the oldest child of 5 in a family of 7 (3 are adopted from Russia). I did one semester of FSCJ in ASL. I love to sign! I used to want to be an interpreter. I now want to be a Wedding Videographer. I have never cut my hair, (except for layers and trimming) and it's down to my waist. Many people call me Rapunzel; because it's long and blonde! Ever see the movie Tangled? THAT'S ME! I served a mission - I had served 4 months before in MS, but went home for a year because of back problems. I returned for 9 more months. God ended up telling me to come home right before July. I came home July 2,2015. I will be attending Santa Fe for Film in Jan. I'm grateful God has a plan for me!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into Mormonism; but when I was at the age of baptism (8 years old), my parents told me it was my decision to get baptized and become a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. For two weeks straight, I studied the Book of Mormon and prayed to know if it was true, and if I should get baptized. Two weeks later, during a lesson my mom was teaching tears started rolling down my cheeks. At that moment, the spirit testified to me that not only that what my mom was teaching was true, but that I knew the Book of Mormon is the word of God, and that I did need to get baptized. Ever since then, I have continuously prayed for guidance and understanding. The scriptures have answered so many prayers of mine, and have helped me through many trials. There have been many times, I'm not sure of ANYTHING; I'm not sure about myself, my friends, my decisions I've made, etc....but I am always sure about the gospel! If no one else is there for me, I know my Father in Heaven is. Whenever I talk about Christ's gospel, or I follow his principals and guidance with exact obedience, I can feel his love around me; and I have nothing but pure joy. Whenever I'm struggling with a principal that I don't have a full testimony of yet, I pray for understanding, and search for answers. In the end, (in the Lord's timing) I have gained a firm testimony of it's truth and importance. The word of wisdom, modesty, the Book of Mormon, church meetings, the sacrament, prayers, the way we speak. I am a Mormon, because I know that this is the true church. I know that even if people scoff at me, and / or lecture me because of what I believe in, nothing can change my testimony of the truthfulness of this Gospel! I am serving an 18 month mission in the Knoxville, Tn mission, and I'm excited to share with the people about what I believe in, because i want them to have the joy and knowledge that I have.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by going to church every Sunday. Before my mission, I played the piano for either sacrament meeting, primary (kid's meeting ), and / or Relief Society (where the women 18+ meet). Tuesday evenings I went to Institute (young single adults) and have lessons taught and / or games played. I never hesitate to share what I believe in. As Joseph Smith once said, "I know it, and I knew God knew it, therefore I cannot deny it." I share with my friends about my spiritual experiences and what I believe in. I also enjoy inviting and bringing my friends to church with me and explaining why we do certain things. I am dedicating 18 months of my life specifically for the Lord serving a full time mission here in the Knoxville, TN mission. I know that as I read the scriptures daily, I and those around me can be and will be blessed. It's like your favorite candy bar, you'd want others to taste it and see how amazing it is, right?! That's how I am with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. It is my favorite candy bar, and I want others to know if it's great taste and have some for themselves!
