Hi I'm Amy

I am a mom of four children. One of my children has special needs. I am a stay at home mom and wife to a wonderful man.

About Me

I love to listen to calm music, grow plants in my garden, and cook vegan food. I enjoy peace in my home when ever I can find it. I am a trained medical assistant and use my skills everyday in my job as a mom. I also use my education in psychology and biology as I teach my children about themselves and the wonderful world around them. I like to learn new things, but most of the time I am pushed to learn new skills or knowledge. When I find my current skills or knowledge lacking that I need now. I have been married for 12 years. My husband is in the military and this causes us to move every 3 to 4 years. I moved many times as a child, but I am still getting used to saying goodbye to my friends and familiar places. And saying "Hello" to new friends and trying new things. I have to call each move a new adventure so that I don't get to scared or overwhelmed with all of the changes. Two of my four children are adopted and one of my children has special needs that keep me on my toes. I am always looking for ways to help him to be successful .

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a Mormon family but what keeps me going to church and living the gospel is the peace and love that I feel. When I was in college away from my family, where no one would notice if I went to church or not, I realized what church did for me. I realized that I needed Christ's atonement, I could not be good enough on my own to get back to heaven. I needed help. I needed his help to be free of feelings of guilt from my choices. I needed his help to make better chooses in the future. I needed him to help change me into a better person. As I follow the commandments in the scriptures, I see how it helps me to be a better person. Church, to me is comforting place because we are all there as people who want to be better people, a people who want to be closer to God and a people who want to help each other to be better.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being close to God so I can raise happy, healthy, and socially appropriate children . I know that God gave me these children to raise. Especially after years of unexplained infertility and the miracles that came together so that we could adopt. I know that God will help me to do what he has sent me to do. I get to learn how to be the mother that my children need me to be. I live my faith by serving others mostly in my own home, in my neighborhood, at church, and in my children's school. I live my faith by being a calm, loving person with an influence for good to whom ever I meet.
