Hi I'm Sam

I'm from St. George, Utah. I'm a student, a teller, an awesome friend, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Kaysville, Utah and then moved to St. George, Utah when I was ten. I served an LDS mission at age 19 in Winnipeg, Manitoba and now I'm studying advertising at Brigham Young University. I am the youngest of five and definitely the spoiled one. My parents refer to me as the caboose or the baby of the family. I love playing guitar/piano, writing music, playing sports, making people laugh, and I have a definite love for the liberal arts. I also love making people laugh, I feel it helps people trust me more. Other than that, I'm pretty normal, I don't have any special abilities other than an ability to love people for who they are. I truly enjoy associating with others and building strong relationships with everyone I meet.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because I have tested its doctrines and principles and have found that there is no fault in them. I have applied each of the doctrines and principles of the Restored Gospel to my life and have found that in living by these standards, I am happy and free from sorrow. I therefore live my Mormon faith because I have absolutely no reason to not live it. There is nothing for me in this world that will benefit me more than having a relationship with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

One day at a time. There is no way for me to return to yesterday and it would be impossible for me to jump into tomorrow. Therefore, I find that today is the only day I have, and now is the only moment I possess. I believe in a God that wants me to improve upon the skills and talents I have. I believe in a God that loves me and wants me to be happy. I therefore dedicate each day to improving myself and trying to find happiness in the here-and-now. I often do not care to talk about my past and I get bored when I talk about my future. But when it comes to discussing today, I can give a sermon. Each day is unique, it brings with it a chance to improve and be happy. Each day is different from the last in the sense that, today, I am stronger and smarter than I was yesterday, and therefore, the ups and downs I face are unique and special because they are experienced through a new person--a new me. Furthermore, because of my relationship with my Father in Heaven, I take comfort that changes can take place in my person and in my life. I know that because of my Heavenly Father's love, I am not programmed to fail, but instead positioned to succeed. For because my God is all-powerful, he can ensure that my life is enjoyable, as long as I follow his counsel and direction. I know this because I truly feel that my Father in Heaven wants me to succeed and be happy.
