Hi I'm Cassi

I love my family, learning, and trying new things. And, I'm a mormon.

About Me

I am a college student right now studying food science. I love to learn and to challenge myself with new subjects and information! I am one of ten children, and my family means the world to me! My eight brothers and my sister are my greatest friends, and I have loved growing up with them always around me, even in the times of chaos that inevitably come with so many people. Together we sing songs, snow ski, rip stick, read books, and do so many other things. I also love spending time with my friends who are always a wonderful influence in my life! Some of my hobbies include playing the violin, running half marathons and marathons, playing card games, and listening to audiobooks.

Why I am a Mormon

As I have tried to live the principles taught in this gospel and worked to follow my Savior Jesus Christ, I have been blessed with so much happiness and peace. There have been times in my life where I have become lazy in my habits of studying the scriptures and praying and doing all the little things God wants me to do. There is a very blatant contrast in how I feel during those times compared to how I feel when I am striving to live how God directs me to live. I am incredibly happier, more productive, more goal-oriented, more family focused, and overall a better person when I follow the principles outlined in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and strive to live in the way that my Heavenly Father wants me to live.

How I live my faith

My faith is centered around Christ and His atonement. I think the best way to show devotion to Him is to follow His example, and serve other people. Because of this, I have taken the opportunity to serve in a number of different positions in my church, from leading the music during our services, to teaching other young adults in sunday school. Additionally, I have found that when I make it a priority to serve in my community and especially in my home I feel an increase of the spirit in my life. I am happiest when I am consistently praying to my Heavenly Father to know what He would have me do, and then am taking the opportunities He gives me to serve His children.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Cassi
To me it only makes sense that there would be a prophet today. God is an all loving god. In every account of Him and in all the blessings He gives us, this is utterly clear! He loves us so much, that he would never leave us alone to fight through the challenges of our world by ourselves. He gave the world so much truth and knowledge through ancient prophets, but He realizes that we live in a changing world, and He wants to give us more direct knowledge for our day. We have true and living prophets today so that God can direct us through the challenges of modern day life. Because of this wonderful blessing, I know with all of my heart that God loves us.
