Hi I'm Mateo McDonald

Howdey Hey Yinzers! I grew up in Mesa, AZ, I play the guitar and love to laugh, Im adopted, and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

My name is Mateo and I was born in Chandler, Arizona. I’ve been raised by goodly parents and live with a wonderfully, large family that consist of 9 girls and 4 boys, each and every one of my siblings are adopted, but nonetheless, are my family 100%. I was baptized into the Church when I was a wee ladi, I was 11 when my family joined but didn't remain active until I was about 16. My Father is a non-member but we still are able to keep a Christ centered home. I graduated High School in 2012 and I am currently serving a mission in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania Mission and I love serving more than anything. Im an amateur soccer advocate and take pride in Pottery...but Im not an artist, I am a craftsmen. When I was a sophomore in High School I took classes in pottery, since then I have had a passion for throwing. I picked up a guitar when I was twelve and have loved to play ever since. There is nothing more in the world that I love than a smile. I love to smile and I love seeing people smile. In fact, that’s the purpose we are here on the earth, to have joy, and what better way to express your joy than to smile. A good laugh always creates memories.

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a Mormon? Sounds like a pretty simple question right? well it is! I am a Mormon because I know with all my heart the truth that comes from the Book of Mormon and its teachings. Together, The Book of Mormon and the Bible are the Lords teachings and contains the fulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, Im not a Mormon because a man says its right, Im a Mormon because God told me that its right, I read the Book of Mormon, and asked God. Clouds didn't part and mountains didn't move, But I felt the truth that came of it, it taste so sweet! It is more than a religion, it is a way of life that I really enjoy living. It creates an eternal happiness no matter what the circumstances are. I watched people who where close to me make decision that weren't exactly great and I didn't want that for myself. I owe a lot of thanks to two special missionaries that came knocking at my door, but mostly to the Lord for blessing me with the opportunity to partake in this wonderful gospel. The God of Israel leads this Camp, and he forever will!

How I live my faith

I believe that living your faith is just as important as having a faith. I live my faith by acting as a representative of Jesus Christ and his church. I am currently serving a mission and love sharing the gospel with everyone I meet. Im not the best at it but I do love it! It brings joy to me to be able to give a simple answer to anyone’s problems they struggle with by sharing what I know to be true about the gospel and how Christ can improve their lives or make it better than it might seem. A faith is so essential in our eternal salvation, and more importantly a faith in Jesus Christ who made an everlasting sacrifice. I live my faith to the greatest of my ability day by day by acting as Christ would. By doing the things Christ would do, saying the things He would say, but just like everyone else in this world, I'm far from perfect. I live my faith by honoring my priesthood, and making sure I’m worthy to exercise it. I strongly believe that a faith is better shown then told, I feel that a testimony is as simple as a smile, letting the world know that you are happy. I feel that the greatest moments I have had when Sharing my faith is when someone asked why I am so happy. It opens a big door for important conversation. This amazing Church has every reason to make you smile so why not?
