Hi I'm Tanner

I grew up in Tremonton, Utah. I'm going on a mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to run, wrestle, and play soccer. I enjoy playing the ukulele, going swimming, and working outside. I am currently finishing high school and will be serving a full time LDS mission this upcoming Summer. After my mission, I plan on attending college and pursuing a medical career in cardiology. I love being part of several service groups in my school and community. I love spending time with my friends and family and making memories.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family who has deep roots in the LDS faith, but that is not the reason for my status as a Mormon. I have received personal revelation that has allowed me to know with all of my heart that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the true church upon the Earth. I know that through the Prophet Joseph Smith that the gospel was restored to this dispensation. Joseph was indeed called of God to bring about the restoration and the gospel in it's entirety. Our loving Heavenly Father sent His only begotten son to die for our sins and through the Crucifixion and Resurrection we can one day be reunited with God and Jesus Christ in heaven. I know baptism by immersion is essential to our eternal progression and the cleansing we receive at baptism is a feeling of great peace and comfort. The Holy Ghost can be our constant companion as we live in harmony with the commandments. The Holy Ghost is a divine gift from God and I know that the Spirit is there for us in any time of need. My testimony is not repetitious, but something that I hold dear to my heart. I know without a shadow of a doubt that we are given prophets upon the Earth to give us revelation from God and that the prophet's words are indeed true and correct. The Church has never changed it's principles, but has brought them throughout the years to guide and direct us throughout our lives. It is essential to know that we are sons and daughters of our Heavenly Father. He loves us and we should return that love at all times by respecting His commandments. I know that the power of the priesthood is real and that when it is exercised correctly, miracles do come forth through faith. This is my testimony to you, in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

As a member of a presidency of the LDS faith, I have a lot of responsibility to care for the well being of those priest aged youth in our ward. I strive to live my life the best I can so they know that what I am trying to teach them is true. As a ward, we share our time, talents and resources providing aid to many by serving. I have cleaned yards, shingled houses, painted fences, planted trees and many miscellaneous activities. I teach the youth of our ward by example. I take a great part in organizing activities that will involve boys my age to feel welcome and to feel like they are part of something great.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints blesses the lives of millions around the world. Our donations and service projects are not specifically for those of our faith. Our objective is to serve our fellow man and to show our love to everyone because we are all God's children. We do not judge anyone for their personal beliefs, but delight in serving all. The missionaries are trained and prepared to teach and serve those who are non-members and to bring unto them the gospel to bless the lives of those whom they teach. Show more Show less
