Hi I'm Michael

I'm a kentuckian and a dedicated University of Kentucky basketball fan.

About Me

If I were to pick a word to describe myself, it'd be awesome. Maybe dashingly handsome would be better....I guess that's two words though. I used to live in Las Vegas, Nevada. I moved to Kentucky when I was fourteen. I absolutely love Kentucky and am a hardcore University of Kentucky basketball fan. I used to swim competitively. I enjoy playing sports with friends/ anyone. I love being outside. I also enjoy working outside and help my dad with farm work. One thing that my parents have taught me is to work hard and to always be working on something. I enjoy educating myself by reading nonfiction books. After I serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Brazil, I will strive to become a chemical engineer. I enjoy chemistry, math, and history. I love to figure out how things work or how things come about. Such as the things bought in stores or how corn can be made into plastic. I love my family dearly. My brother is bipolar. We have been helping him get help from medical professionals and hope to have him healthy again. I wouldn't trade my family for anything in the world. Although imperfect, we have made it through rough times and as we currently face more hardship, we will become closer together with our purpose being one with our Heavenly Father's. I know The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the only true church on the face of the earth today that is led by Jesus Christ our master. I also know the Book of Mormon is the word of God.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I have been around the mormon church since I was born, I have made the decision to be a member from the truth I feel constantly. It lends a perspective that is comforting and helpful to the many tribulations life hands me. I have found by just doing the simple things that are required by being a member, I have had joy or a path to obtain joy in each day of my life. Being a mormon also has allowed me to grow as a person. I feel that what is taught in this church guides any person towards self improvement. This improvement of self turns into natural improvement of others by example and conduct. I'm also a mormon from the constant battle that it brings. Those tribulations make me stronger and I am grateful to have improved from my efforts. I know that the trials ahead will bring me closer to God and help me become as God. I'm also a Mormon from the Peace brought by the Houses of the Lord or the temples built on this earth.

How I live my faith

I read the scriptures. This includes the Bible, Old Testament and New Testament, the Book of Mormon, the Doctrine and Covenants, and the Pearl of Great Price. I pray throughout my day to be in-tune with the Holy Ghost, so I may be guided to do what Jesus Christ would have me do. I study the words of the modern day prophet Thomas S. Monson and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles. I study the Christ-like attributes such as: Faith in Jesus Christ, Hope, Charity and Love, Knowledge, Virtue, Patience, Humility, Diligence and Obedience. I try to apply them to myself so that I may become as Jesus Christ. This allows me to improve myself and to have a better attitude. I follow the Law of Chastity, which include having sexual relations only with my wife who I have been legally or lawfully wedded to. Therefore, until I am married, I will not have sexual relations with anyone. I follow the Word of Wisdom. This means to stay away from addictive substances such as: coffee, caffeine, alcohol, tobacco, and other illegal drugs or substances. We also do not partake of tea. I enjoy being friends with everyone I meet and loving everyone no matter their social standing. I find that each of us have our own trials to face and that we are all unique. I wish to help others as much as I possibly can, because we all could use a companion in our struggles. I love Jesus Christ and my Father in Heaven and hope my actions justify my love for them and those around me.
