Hi I'm Anna

I live in England. I have just been called to serve a mission in Jamaica Kingston! I am Mormon.

About Me

I have lived in England all my life. I have been brought up as a Mormon and I love it! My greatest hobby and interest is playing the piano. I have been playing the piano for about 11 years. Nothing makes me happier than to just sit down whether I am feeling happy or sad and play. One reason I love playing the piano is that it not only brings me joy, but it also brings others happiness. Music can be a powerful tool and I am grateful that I have been blessed with this talent. I have just completed a year at the University of Bradford studying Biomedical Sciences. After my mission, I will attend Brigham Young University where I will study Microbiology. To me, science explains how God works and proves his existence. The more I learn about the human body and the earth, the more I believe that there is a God!

Why I am a Mormon

When I was 17 I began preparing for university and thought a lot about how I should be living my life. A sister missionary in my local branch was such a good example to me. She was happy and there was so much goodness in her. It was because she had faith in Christ and showed it in the way she lived. This led to me getting on my knees and praying to Heavenly Father. I asked him to help me know if this church was true and if it was, to give me a desire to live the way Christ wants me to live. A few nights later I was reading the Book of Mormon and found 2 Nephi 25:29: "And now behold, I say unto you that the right way is to believe in Christ, and deny him not; and Christ is the Holy One of Israel; wherefore ye must bow down before him, and worship him with all your might, mind, and strength, and your whole soul; and if ye do this ye shall in nowise be cast out." When I read this scripture I felt the Holy Ghost stronger than I had ever previously felt. From that moment I have had strong faith in Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. Why am I a Mormon? Simply because I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the only true church on the earth. It is the same church today as it was in Christ's day. I know that the Book of Mormon is true. It guides us and helps us build a relationship with Heavenly Father. I know that any person can come to know these things are true like I did if they will pray with a real desire to know and a willingness to act upon the answer.

How I live my faith

Within church, I play the organ during sacrament meeting and I am the primary music leader which involves children from 3-11 years of age. Outside of church I try to tell the people I meet about being a Mormon. I try to show I am a Mormon by the way I live. I recently made the decision to serve a mission. I have been called to serve in the Jamaica Kingston mission! This means I will leave my home and family for 18 months and find and teach people about Jesus Christ and his restored church once again on the earth. I made the decision to go on a mission because I feel Heavenly Father has greatly blessed me in my life and I have experienced so much joy living this gospel that I want other people to feel that joy too. I have a deep testimony in the atonement of Jesus Christ. I know that every one can be made clean and be healed by this power. It fixes problems and it makes people stronger. There are people in the world who don't even know that Christ exists. They don't know what he did for them. They don't know that the mistakes they have made can be corrected. I want to serve a mission because every person on this earth should know that Christ lives and that he wants them to come unto him and receive all the blessings he has to offer.
