Hi I'm Pearl

I grew up in the South. I enjoy reading, gardening, and being with my family. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in the South, the youngest of three. My parents were wonderful and taught me of Jesus. They also taught be about integrity--that when you make a promise you keep it, always be honest, be kind to others, and to not be afraid of hard work and to always to my best. Getting a good education was also important to my family. My parents didn't get the opportunity to go to college but they were life long learners. They made many sacrifices for the family so that we could have the best education possible. While in college I was introduced to my future husband. He too had the values that my parents instilled in me. I was drawn to him because of his goodness and love of the Lord. We got married and were blessed with five wonderful children. Because of our shared values and strength that living the gospel of Jesus Christ brings we have been able to get through the challenges of life and have joy in our journey.

Why I am a Mormon

As I was growing up in a different faith I had questions about what happens to people who don't know about Jesus Christ, why are babies baptized if baptism is for the remission of sins and babies had done nothing wrong, and other questions. When I went to college I had friends who were members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I asked them what Mormons believe. They invited me to visit with the missionaries in their home. As I was being taught about Heavenly Father's plan of happiness all of my questions were answered. What joy that brought to me. The Book of Mormon has also brought to me answers to questions that were in my heart, knowledge of the power of the Atonement of Jesus Christ, and the peace that comes from knowing that my Heavenly Father is aware of me and loves me.I

How I live my faith

I have had the opportunity over the years to serve in many capacities in the church. Because of these callings I have grown spiritually and have learned that I can do hard things. I have worked with Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, young women 14-18, the women's auxiliary, taught Sunday School, and early morning scripture study with youth 14-18. My husband and I are now serving our second full time mission for the Church (18 months). We love having the opportunity to serve and invite others to come unto Christ. What joy it is to see the change in someone's life as they determine to follow Christ.
