Hi I'm sue sibley

i am a mormon, since the autumn of 1969. I signed my name in the visitors book. elders taught me and i was baptised.

About Me

I am married and we have 4 children, 3 sons, 1 daughter. it will be our 40th anniversary this year, in august, 2013. two of our sons served missions when they turned 19. When i was in the united states I found out about the church as I was travelling across the states from san.f. to new.j. where my sister lived with her family, who sponsored me to be able to live and work there. we have recently returned from south africa where we served as matured couple missionaries and really enjoyed it out there with the african people. We now live in the west country in our retirement. We enjoy the lovely walks and beautiful scenery. I go swimming with our daughter as she goes surfing, grandad paddling with the little ones in the warm months. we use our wet suits when it is not so warm. I love adventure cooking too. searching for my ancestors is another great thing i like to get busy with. while growing up in my former church as I attended it on a sunday evening i would sit there thinking there must be something more than this. many churches i have attended prior to finding our Lord's true church. I have been so blessed to have found so much more in this life and for the eternities. Each sunday we attend our local meeting place. we also attend our temple which is in Surrey, where we have served as temple workers. Our sons live quite a distance from us but we are blessed to be able to see them quite often and too our other grandchildren.

Why I am a Mormon

I chose to be baptised a member of the Lord's restored church because i knew it was true once the elders had taught me about it and i had prayed to know it was, then felt the Holy Ghost witness this to me. our family has been truly blessed with the gospel of Jesus Christ in their lives. When, as parents, we see the world's standards falling rapidly, we are so thankful that we are able to know higher ones, which if lived, help us be happier in this earthly life. I know we existed before this life, I also know we have a far more happier eternal life to look forward to after this, if we abide by our Heavenly Father's precepts. His beloved son Jesus Christ is the Saviour of the world and loves each one of us. All we have to do is live His commandments he has given us. Follow His prophet who at present is Thomas S. Monson, forsake our sins and show true repentance, then Jesus Christ will forgive us. He paid the price for our sins and His arms are outstretched, just waiting for us to come unto Him, for He loves and cares for us so very much. being a mormon gives me comfort and peace. i know why i am here and where i existed before being born and where i can hope to arrive at after this earth life. i know trials will come but with prayer and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ i will be able to overcome them. the plan of salvation is so good to know and it is so good to find others who are willing to want to know about it. it is our Heavenly Father's plan for all of His children. He wants all to come unto Christ, who is the author of salvation. i am so thankful for our prophet Joseph Smith who was the instrument in our Lord's hands to bring back His church. i am so thankful for our present day prophet, president Thomas S. Monson who guides His church today. i am a mormon because of these truths i know.

How I live my faith

I am active in our church. once each month i go with another sister to visit an assigned amount of sisters to see if they are in need of any help. If help is needed it gets reported back to who deals with this. I am also responsible to see who needs compassionate service in our area. At the moment my husband and I are waiting to see what help we can assist with at our local food bank . I like to study the Book of Mormon each morning, just a chapter, sometimes less, this helps me through the day to remember I am a daughter of a Heavenly Father, who loves each of us and cares about us. I also like to study the Holy Bible. Each remind me of how we need to live if we wish to receive the blessings He has for us and how our dear Saviour, Jesus Christ continually calls for us to "come unto Him and be one. with Him. I have from april 2015 been working for one morning a week helping out in the books department at our local oxfam shop, and it is very rewarding. also it was great helping out on poppy day selling poppies for the British Legion.
