Hi I'm Michelle Cheung

I love being Asian. I'm a missionary in Hong Kong. I will always be a California girl at heart. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently a student at BYU studying sociology, however I deferred my enrollment for a year and a half so that I could serve a mission for our church in Hong Kong. I am an only child, and growing up my parents have taught me the importance of being a confident and independent young woman. They have showered me with unconditional love and support since the day I was born and I am so lucky to call them my mom and dad!

Why I am a Mormon

When I read my mission call, I was very shocked and excited to see that I have been called to serve in Hong Kong. Both of my parents joined the church in Hong Kong before they immigrated to the United States and it was all because of missionaries that knocked on their doors. Because of their faithfulness and great example, I was very lucky and blessed to have been born and raised in this gospel. Growing up, I have been able to develop my own testimony and my own witness that this is the true church, the very church that Christ himself organized on earth many years ago. I am a Mormon because this religion makes me so happy, it is a great happiness that cannot be replicated anywhere else. This happiness is the reason why I have chosen to serve a mission and I could not be more ecstatic to share this message of love, hope, and joy with others in the very place where my family found true happiness, Hong Kong.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by communicating with God everyday through prayer and by reading the scriptures . I try to see God in my life because I know that He is always there, watching over me and wanting nothing but the best for me. It is important for me to live my faith everyday and to try and be a good example to others because this is not a part-time church. I took upon the name of Jesus Christ when I was baptized at 8 years old and I will honor that commitment. I put my faith and trust in God and Jesus Christ and I let them guide my life and give me strength. This church has been such a great blessing in my life and I am so grateful for the opportunity to share this happiness with others.
