Hi I'm Cassie

I am a Primary School Teacher and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been a Primary School Teacher for 2 years. I love teaching and being able to make a difference in children's lives. It is a hard and time consuming job but it is the also most rewarding job. I am currently learning to play the piano again and I am also taking ballroom and latin dance lessons which I love. It is great fun to learn these skills and develop talents that I never thought I had. In August I will start to serve my 18 month mission, it is a big sacrifice but I know this is the path that I need to take and it is what my Heavenly Father wants me to do. I am nervous but really looking forward to sharing the gospel.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church and so I have grown up with its teachings, so I haven't known anything different. However as I got older I had to make my own choice about how I wanted to live my life. There came a time when I had to pray and read the scriptures and find out for myself. Through different experiences and through the spirit, I realised that this is the true church. I had often had thoughts come into my mind saying "If this wasn't true we wouldn't have a prophet or the Book of Mormon." and it was through these that I realised that I knew that it was true. I have been so blessed for living the gospel, I am not perfect but I try my best. Whenever I have had trials I know that I can alway rely on my Heavenly Father and that I am never alone. I know that Jesus Christ lives and that he died for us and I know that one day we will live with him and our Heavenly Father again. Living the gospel has made me who I am today. It has made me happy and I do not know what I would ever do without it.

How I live my faith

I try my very best each day to keep the standards of the church. I try to be an example of the church by dressing modestly, keeping the word of wisdom and by avoiding anything that is not in line with the Lord's standards. I pray and read the scriptures everyday and attend church every Sunday as this is what the Lord has asked us to do. Doing this everyday increases my knowledge of the gospel and helps me to understand the importance of doing these things. I try to share the gospel with the people that I meet and hope that through my actions they can see that I live by what I believe, what I have been taught and what I know is right.
