Hi I'm Jessica Ricks

I'm from California. I'm grateful for the blessing of family and friends. I laugh a lot. I am a missionary. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am serving an 18 month mission in the Arizona Mesa Spanish Speaking Mission. My testimony has grown so much being on a mission. I am constantly amazed at the faith and strength that members and investigators have. This example helps me to recognize the love of Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father. I have a strong testimony that the Savior and our Father in Heaven knows us individually. I know this because we are given the commandment to pray daily. Out of all the people in the universe, my Father in Heaven has asked to hear my personal prayers. He has commanded that I share, in prayer, my thoughts, my concerns, my gratitude and my questions with Him. Through daily prayer we can come closer to Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father. We can align our will the will of our Father. We will witness miracles in our daily lives. We will know that the restored gospel is on the Earth today in its fulness. We will become a light in this troubled world. Through prayer, we will become true disciples of Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

Every member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, whether baptized at 8 years old or 88 years old, must go through a conversion process. We must ask with all of our heart if this is the gospel of Jesus Christ. I did not experience an overwhelming sensation as soon as I prayed and asked my Father in Heaven. This answer came through time. This answer came with small and discreet but clear feelings or experiences that helped me recognize the truthfulness of this gospel. With these experiences, I cannot deny that this is the gospel of Jesus Christ. The doctrine makes sense. There is no commandment given that is not for the betterment of our lives. The gospel is restored onto the Earth today. It is the same gospel that Jesus Christ brought to the Earth during His Earthly ministry. I love the blessings and the light that this gospel brings into my life. Through the Bible and The Book of Mormon and prayer, my questions are answered. I am a Mormon because I have felt the love of the Savior and my Heavenly Father and I have witnessed the miracles and the happiness that this gospel brings.

How I live my faith

The best way to live the gospel of Jesus Christ is to be happy. There are really hard days, but I know that if we stay positive and put all of our trust in the Lord, we will be happy and blessed. We will be a resource of comfort, light and strength to other people. I try to live my faith by being a true and sincere representative of Jesus Christ in thoughts, actions, and speech.
