Hi I'm Rebeckah

I'm a scientist. I'm a wife and a mother. Oh yeah, and I'm a Mormon too.

About Me

I used to manage a malaria research lab for a prominent university. I loved my job. It was the perfect balance of parasites and people. Now I'm a "stay-at-home-mom" and I love my job. It isn't balanced at all and involves a lot of all-nighters and sticky, smelly things. I served as a missionary in Cincinnati, speaking Spanish. I still use my Spanish most days. My husband and I have lived in Taiwan, visited a number of other countries, and driven across the United States. If I had unlimited clothing funds, I would fill my wardrobe with 1950's dresses. I love that fashion period.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because it makes me happy. I find comfort and enlightenment in the scriptures and a sense of peace in living the principles of the gospel.

How I live my faith

I don't like to talk too much about being Mormon, because I'm not very good at explaining things, so I just like to BE Mormon. That means I like to be kind, be a good neighbor, serve my friends and community, and try to contribute to the good in the world. I admire the scientific process as a method of discovering knowledge. It turns out that as I experiment on the gospel, I find that by living the principles taught in church I have a happy life.
