Hi I'm Hannah

I'm a Southern Californian, a Pre-Nursing major, a movie watcher, a reader, and a soon-to-be missionary. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've grown up in Southern California and believe it to be one of the greatest places on earth. However, I love meeting new people and experiencing new things, so I decided to go out of state for college and it was one of the best decisions I ever made. I just finished my freshman year and now I'm preparing to serve an 18-month mission for the Church in the Spain Barcelona Mission. I come from a family of athletes, and we love to play and watch all kinds of sports together, our favorites being volleyball, football, and basketball. My family is very important to me and especially in being away from them at school I have learned how much I love and appreciate them. Being a member of the Church has been one of the defining parts of my life, and I hope to be able to share and impart some of that love I have for it to you.

Why I am a Mormon

I believe the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints to be the true church of Christ, restored so that it contains the fullness of the gospel as established by Jesus Christ Himself. Although I was born into the Church, it is not something that I have been forced to be a part of or blindly followed because my parents did before me. I made an active decision to find out for myself if the Church was true by reading the Book of Mormon in its entirety and praying to know if its message was from God. I can testify that after doing this, I felt peace and assurance and knew without a doubt that Joseph Smith translated it by the power of God and that it was real and true. Being a member of the Church has blessed my life in so many ways, and I know that I would not be the same person without it. It makes me happy, and by following its teachings I have come to know a sense of direction and purpose in my life. I know where I'm going, I know why I'm here, and I want others to know it too. For this reason, I've chosen to serve a full-time mission and share the message that has changed my life and become so important to me with everyone I can.

How I live my faith

I try hard to conduct myself in a way that reflects Christ and His teachings, and I think in this way I live my faith the best I can. In high school and college I tried to get involved in all kinds of community and volunteer service opportunities and it has been one way that I feel I can actively live my faith. In choosing Nursing as a career, I have chosen to dedicate my life to serving others because it truly makes me happy. I also actively live my faith by serving in my ward at Church. In my college ward I served as a Sunday School teacher, preparing lessons and teaching other members each week, which helped me to grow in my faith and testimony. I also participated in visiting teaching, in which my assigned partner and I had the opportunity to visit with and deliver a gospel message to a couple girls in our ward.
