Hi I'm Baylee Kerr

I'm from Utah. I love sports and the outdoors. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love my family. They are my favorite people to be around. I have 2 nieces and 3 nephews and they are my life. I am going to BYU and am in the Elementary Education program- I love kids! For the next 18 months I will be serving in the Kentucky Louisville Mission and I can't wait. I also love sports. I've always played basketball and softball. I even like to watch them. (Go LA Clippers). I love everything outdoors, especially in warm weather-boating, parks, hikes. I love music, learning, food, and life.

Why I am a Mormon

Well I grew up in an active family so naturally I was introduced to the church very young. I began to read scriptures, go to church, learn of and live the gospel when I was little. I gained a testimony of it when I was young. I knew that there was something important about the church and that I felt good being a part of it. As my father started to make some poor decisions and my mother passed away from cancer I relied on my siblings and my small but strong testimony. As I turned to the church and the knowledge of the Plan of Happiness (that families can be together forever, even after death aka I can be with my mom again), it was my only source of hope. As I decided to turn to the gospel rather than be bitter I started living with more conviction. Prayer became real. I know Heavenly Father is aware of me, hears me, and answers me. Often through others and through the scriptures. I have had experiences that I cannot deny this. Through continued study and faith I have come to love the Book of Mormon and to know it is true and testifies of Christ. I know that Joseph Smith translated it by the power of God and that he was a prophet. I am so grateful for him. I have heard President Monson and the other apostles speak, and I as I try to apply their teachings I know they are disciples of Christ and that President Monson is the prophet today. I don't know how Jesus Christ performed the atonement, and I don't know a lot of things, but I still know it is real and that I can use it in my life. I know that families are forever. To put things most simply, I know that living the gospel of Jesus Christ is what can make us truly happy both now and forever despite the hard things we are going to face throughout our lives. I love this gospel. I am grateful to be blessed enough to be a "Mormon". I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

I try to live the standards and values of the church. I know that doing so makes me happy. By following the example of Jesus Christ to love and serve others the church gives us lots of opportunities to reach out and serve by simple visits, helping others around the house, to teaching lessons, and paying tithing. I am blessed enough to have the opportunity to serve a full-time mission where I will be able to devote 18 months to serving and teaching others.
