Hi I'm Ken

I grew up an Air Force "brat" and lived all over the United States. I spent time as an instructor pilot. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy hunting, fishing and most all of the outdoor sports. I'm enjoy my family and friends and love to "tinker" around the house fixing what is broken and trying to make our home a better place. I spent many years flying airplanes and instructing in them.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have read the Book of Mormon and asked God if it was true or not. There was a time in my life that I wasn't particularly active, but one day I decided to find out for myself if the gospel was true or not. Was Joseph Smith a prophet? Through prayer and study, I found out for myself that the Church is the true Church of Jesus Christ. Joseph Smith was a prophet. As a 14 year-old young man, he had the faith to go into the woods and ask God which of the Churches of the day he should join. He was told by Jesus Christ that he should not join any of them. I know that the experience he had that day was real. He is a true prophet of the Lord Jesus Christ. The Lord restored the Church, the Gospel, and the Priesthood back to the earth through the Prophet Joseph Smith. We have living Prophets and Apostles on the face of the earth today and they teach us the mind and the will of the Lord. I know that as I follow the counsel of these living prophets, I will be on the straight and narrow path back to our Heavenly Father. I have a testimony of the truthfulness of these things and testify that they are true. This testimony is the most important possession that I have.

How I live my faith

I have had many opportunities to serve in the church doing various things. One of my most enjoyable times was with the Scouts and taking them on camping trips, hikes and adventurous activities. I have been blessed with a second language and have had the opportunity to use that language to teach the youth and enjoy the humble Latino community. Although I enjoy being with the youth, my most important priority in life are my wife and children. It is totally fun to have all the children and grandchildren in our small home and watch the cousins interact with each other, especially during Family Home Evenings where we are able to share gospel experiences we have had and to watch the grandchildren get up and give small presentations, sing songs and say prayers.
