Hi I'm Jane

I attend BYU and am preparing to serve a mission in Panama. I also love spending time with my family. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am currently attending BYU with a major in Family Studies. I plan to either go into social work with this degree or simply be a stay-at-home mother. I have been called on a mission to Panama. I cannot wait to serve and am preparing as much as I can. I also love to spend time with my family. We love to go camping, watch movies, and just goof around together. My hobbies include playing the piano, reading, baking and sewing. I am not very good at sewing but I still enjoy it! I have been baking ever since I can remember. I love to bake cookies, cakes, pies, and bread.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know this gospel is true. I know with a surety that this church is the same church that Jesus Christ Himself formed while He walked the earth which was restored through Joseph Smith the prophet. I know our Heavenly Father loves each and every one of us and wants us to return home to Him one day! This gospel is how He intended us to live so that we might be happy while in this life and also achieve eternal happiness in the kingdoms of heaven. He has given us many tools so we can do this like the Atonement, repentance, temples, scriptures, the priesthood, prayer, and families. I have learned that when I live this gospel, when I keep the commandments, and as I strive to be a disciple of Jesus Christ, I am blessed with strength, comfort, and joy that can only come from on high. I am grateful for this gospel in my life, I am so blessed to have this knowledge of my eternal potential and the plan of salvation. I love this gospel, I love my Savior, I hope to spread this love to all that are ready to hear it. I cannot wait to serve my mission in Panama where I will work my hardest to bring this joyous news to as many of Heavenly Father's children as I can! I know this gospel to be true, I know the Book of Mormon is true scripture, and I know the Savior lives and loves us all in our own individual ways. I am thankful for this knowledge in my life, and I cannot wait to bring this knowledge to others throughout my life. I know that if a person sincerely hungers for a sure knowledge of this gospel, if they read the Book of Mormon, and ask their Heavenly Father if it is true in sincere prayer, they will be blessed with a confirmation through the Holy Spirit that it is true scripture, and that this church is the true church of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

Since I am under 30 and single, I am currently attending a Young Single Adult ward. I help organize activities that we all do together once a week. For example, this week we all went on a hike together, and the week before we played games. It's a good time for people to get to know each other and have fun. We start off every activity with a spiritual thought and then continue on to the activity. Another good thing about our ward is the home teaching and visit teaching. Everyone in the ward is assigned home teachers. The home teachers are two males who are assigned to a person. They are supposed to get to know them and get in touch every month. The visit teachers are two females also assigned to a person. They do the same thing. This creates a lot of unity within the ward because as people become associated and get to know one another, they feel more welcome and comfortable at church. It is also very helpful when people are going through a hard time. If someone ever needs help with something, their home teachers and visiting teachers are always there for them.
