Hi I'm Jenny

I grew up in Blackfoot, Idaho. I am the oldest of five girls, and I am now a stay at home mom of my own five turkeys!

About Me

I grew up in Blackfoot, Idaho. I am the oldest of five girls, no boys! I graduated high school and then attended Rick's College (aka BYU-Idaho). I began dating my husband In high school, he left on his mission shortly before I graduated. We wrote back and forth his entire mission, and were married 8 months after he returned. He is the love of my life and I love that he is mine for eternity. :) We have 5 kids, four girls and 1 boy. I enjoy running, sewing, playing the piano, and learning new things.

Why I am a Mormon

I come from a strong LDS family, and so I was baptized at 8 years old. I have always had a testimony of the gospel and haven't ever really doubted any of the teachings. However, when I was a teenager I was taught over and over that I needed to pray to know the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon. I wanted to know I had my OWN testimony, so I took the challenge. One night after I prayed, I was reading in D&C 6, and I received my answer. I read in that Section, what had been revealed to Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdry, and I knew that it pertained to me too. I know the gospel is true and I have known it my entire life! I love my Savior, Jesus Christ, and I know that he suffered for me so that I might live with Him again. I know he did this because he loves me. I love President Monson and the other leaders of the church. I know they teach us the things we need to know and learn to live a righteous life. I am thankful for Joseph Smith and all of the things he went through to bring this wonderful gospel back to the Earth. I am so very grateful for the Temple and the blessings I receive by attending and serving there. I love that families can be together forever and I wouldn't want it any other way! I love my family and my husband SO much. I am thankful I get to attend the temple and reunited other families. I am so blessed in my life. I have a wonderful life, family, and attitude (most days anyway) :) that I attribute to the gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that even though things might not always be wonderful, that I have a Heavenly Father that loves me and will help me through anything I am faced with. I know that my Redeemer Lives! In the name of my Savior, Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

I love going to my Sunday meetings each week and associating with so many wonderful friends. My calling in the church is to teach a class for the 10 & 11 year old kids in our ward. I love being with them and I especially love it when they share personal testimony building experiences with me. They are so young, yet they love the gospel so much. I also am in charge of organizing activity days; an activity held twice a month with the 8-11 year old girls of the ward. I LOVE IT!!!!! Just last night we had a mother/daughter activity where we played games, ate snacks, and had pillow fights, just like you would at a slumber party. The girls came with their moms, in their pajamas with crazy hair. We had SO much fun!!!!! At home, with my own kids, we try to do a weekly family home evening. Currently we are working together to become more prepared for an emergency, and we plan to hold a "surprise" emergency where we have to leave the house in 15 min and not go back in for 24 hours. :) Should be fun! We also try to read scriptures daily and have family prayer in the mornings and evenings.
