Hi I'm Spencer

I'm thankful to be a brother, and friend, and a mormon!

About Me

I love the outdoors! I love to hike, camp, fish, play Frisbee, Tennis and swim! I'm a student at Utah State University but I haven't declared a major yet, and I'm taking a two year break to serve a mission in Indiana. I have two brothers, one older and one younger, and an older sister.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family of church members and grew up with it. I was excited to get baptized by my Dad when I turned eight years old and knew it was the right thing to do. My Dad later passed away in 2004 when I was ten years old, and I had to rely on my family's faith to cope with the loss. I quickly gained my own testimony of Heavenly Father's Plan of Salvation for us, and knew that I could live with my Dad again, much like we can live with our Heavenly Father again. The Gospel became much more personal to me and I wanted to learn more about it. Through personal experiences and with the companionship of the Holy Ghost, I became truly converted to the Gospel of Jesus Christ and came to love it because of its application to my family's situation and me personally. I have been privileged to feel the redeeming power of Christ's Atonement in my life and I love the feelings that come when I am worthy to have the companionship of the Holy Ghost. I want others around me to have that same privilege and feel the same happiness I have felt. I know that Heavenly Father sent his son, Jesus Christ, to be an example for us to follow and to suffer for our sins so that we may become clean like Him. I know that Jesus conquered death for us, so that we can have hope. I know that Heavenly Father's Plan of Happiness for us is set in place to help us return to live with Him. If we repent and become clean then we can gain eternal life with our families! The Book of Mormon teaches these principles and guides us to live the way God wants us to live, and it is true.

How I live my faith

I participate in my ward by attending activities and supporting my friends who have callings as much as I can. My last calling was in the Sunday School presidency, so I got to help coordinate weekly classes about the Gospel at church! I try to stay faithful with my home-teaching assignments because home-teachers can be a great blessing in the lives of those they serve. Right now, I am a missionary for the church in Indiana and Ohio, and I can't wait to serve the people there! I am dedicating two years of my life to this service, starting on May 22nd, 2013!
