Hi I'm Candice

I'm a missionary, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I went to college for a year where I was working on getting a degree in Early Childhood Education. I absolutely loved my time at school but I am now taking a break to serve as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints.

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I Mormon? Simple! It makes me so incredibly happy that I know there is no other way that I can live that will bring me as much joy and happiness as being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I know that when people look at the church they only see all of the 'rules' that we follow. When I was younger sometimes I looked at our standards as 'rules' too. But over time of living the gospel I have come to find that EVERY single aspect of the gospel is there to make us happy. If they are rules, then they are the only possible way that you can be 100% happy, and if there is a way to be 100% happy then I would follow any rules I need to. I am a Mormon because there is not a question that I have that I cannot find an answer to. It is not complicated. Everything makes sense and falls into place. I did not have to rely on the words of other people, I was able to find out the truthfulness of the gospel for myself through scripture study, prayer, and a witness from the Holy Ghost. I am a Mormon because I don't know how I could live my life not knowing what I know. I know who I am. I am a daughter of God. I know that he loves me. I know that my brother and Savior Jesus Christ suffered not only for my sins but for every temptation and suffering and pain that I have and will go through. He knows me by name, he knows how I am feeling when no one else does. I am never alone. There is a life after this one and my family will be together forever. I know that Joseph Smith restored the gospel and that we still have a Prophet of God here upon the earth today. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and that Heavenly Father answers our prayers. Because I know what I know, there is always a reason to smile. Without this gospel I would be lost. How could I live life in the dark? Not knowing who I am, why I'm here and where I'm going? Not knowing Heavenly Father loves me? I simply could not. I know this church is true. Thats why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by attending church each Sunday, participating in activities such as family home evening and ward prayer in my singles ward, and regualrly attending the temple. But mostly I live my faith by trying each day to be better than I was the day before, realizing that I am imperfect but Christ makes up for my shortcomings as long as I am striving to be my best and live as he would live. Serving others and helping them to live their faith helps me to stay strong and remember who I am. Sharing my testimony often, reading the scriptures and kneeling in prayer to my Heavenly Father daily helps me stay close to the Savior and keeps the spirit with me throughout the day. I make mistakes, I falter, I fall short sometimes, but I know that my Heavenly Father and brother Jesus Christ love me anyway, and they are there to lift me when I fall, and give me comfort in times of need. So that is how I live my faith, knowing that I can't do it on my own and I need my Father in Heaven and Savior. Then I live life by making each day better than the last and being the best I can be.
