Hi I'm Will Richardson

I like sports of any kind, my family comes first, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Will Richardson. I grew up in the South Jordan, Utah area. Growing up, my activities mostly revolved around a ball of any kind. I love playing any sort of physical game, especially football and basketball. I played football and weight lifted in high school and keep doing those as a hobby now. I also enjoy spending as much time as possible with my friends and family. I attended a small college in central Utah for a semester before I left on my mission. When I return, I plan on resuming my education at a different school.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into an active LDS home. When I was younger, I believed that I had a testimony of the church, but slowly over time I stopped doing the things that I needed to do to strengthen my relationship with God such as reading the scriptures and praying. As life continued I reached a point where I didn't know what I believed anymore - for a while I really I just didn't think about things but felt inside that I wasn't happy. While at college for my first semester, life became tough for me and eventually I was humble enough to start thinking about what I had been taught all my life. I started to do the little things like reading the Book of Mormon and praying daily. There wasn't a huge change intially, but over a period of time I realized that my life was changing for the better. I felt that I was closer to that peace and joy that I had been looking for all along. As this was happening, I gradually felt the need to find out if the Book of Mormon is really what Joseph Smith said it was - evidence of the Restoration of Christ's Church. One night I became willing to sincerely pray and ask God if these things were true and I received my answer from the Holy Ghost, just as the book promises. Other experiences confirming that same truth have followed. I am a Mormon because through the teachings of The Book of Mormon and Holy Bible I have come to know that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world. With that knowledge, I have also gained a testimony that He stands at the head of this church and leads and directs it, just like He did in the days of the New Testament.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying everyday to be a better person and become more like our Savior Jesus Christ. Each day presents its challenges, but I've come to realize that it's not about the challenges we face, it's how we respond to and overcome those challenges. If we move forward with faith knowing that God can and will help us through our trials and tribulations, He will. As I've gone through difficult times in my life and turned to God, He has helped me through them and I know that He will continue to do so. I am currently serving as a missionary in the North Carolina Charlotte area. It is an absolute joy, and I have loved the time that I have had thus far to help others to come closer to Jesus Christ.
