Hi I'm Tanner

I'm from Las Vegas, I'm an outdoor guy, I love my family, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

First things first, I love my family. I love camping, sports of all kinds, working with people, reading, writing, drawing, cooking, eating, building, and even cleaning occasionally, but it all comes back to my family. My planned career path is to work in the prosthetics field developing new kinds of limbs to increase motion and mobility for disabled individuals. I've gone through a year of mechanical engineering at BYU but have put those plans on hold for two years while I serve as a missionary in the Long Beach, California and Sao Paulo Interlagos, Brazil Missions. The gospel message that I share as a missionary has blessed my life, increased my perspective as a child of our loving Heavenly Father, and deepened my own connection to my family and that is why I am here.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I know that the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the church organization established by Jesus Christ when He was on the earth, that what we preach is His gospel, and that the leaders of the Church here on earth have the authority from God to direct it. I know these things for myself and I also know that anyone who really wants to know can come to the same conviction, and know, by the Spirit of God, for themselves as well.

How I live my faith

Growing up I have had many opportunites to serve in the Church as well as to do service for my community in Las Vegas. I also have the opportunity now, as a missionary, to teach people the principles that have blessed me in my life and help them to increase their faith in the Savior, Jesus Christ. I think the most important thing I can do to live my faith, and that any Latter-Day Saint does, is to simply be a good example, to follow the commandments of the Lord and constantly strive to be a person who's presence uplifts and encourages those around him to be happy and live the gospel as well.

Who was Joseph Smith?

Tanner
Joseph Smith was a boy who, as a part of his search for the truth, was given revelation that the gospel was not on the earth in it's fullness at that time and was later made the instrument through which the fullness of the gospel could be restored. He was a prophet called of God and given the authority to act in his name on the earth, just as prophets of old were called and just as prophets have been called in these latter days.
