Hi I'm Devrie

I was born in California. My favorite color is clear. I love the sea and I love humans. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in California, raised in Arizona/Utah, and I just finished my freshman year at college. I've played the violin for 10 years and I also play the piano. I am very passionate about music of pretty much all types. I love running, hiking, swimming, and basically anything outdoors. My family members are my best friends, and my dad is an identical triplet. I love to travel. I have been to countries bordering the Baltic Sea, Mexico, and the Caribbean. If I were to pick an ideal place to live it would be Bornholm, Denmark, or Hawaii. I love the ocean more than anything and just want to live near it.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know without a doubt that the Book of Mormon is true. This one simple truth can bring so much joy into everyone's life who allows it. The Book of Mormon is the word of God, I know it to be a testament of the coming of Christ. And if the Book of Mormon is true, everything else falls into place behind it. The Atonement is a real and active power in my life today, and I know the only way to eternal salvation is through it. Prophets still exist today, bringing modern day revelation, leading the lives of the downtrodden, broken hearted spirits of many in the world. I know that the family is a sacred unit, an eternal bond based on love and service. God loves us, and Christ loves us--such simple words bring me a peace beyond any I have ever felt. To know that such a powerful, divine being is my father and he loves me lets me know that I have a potential that I can fulfill, through faith, prayer, and diligence in keeping the commandments. I know that through prayer, we can communicate with our father, and receive the guidance we need in our lives at the time. The most basic principle of our foundation is to love, serve, live, have joy. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints exemplifies this like no other organization I have ever seen. I love the gospel for the person it has helped me become. Christ lives, and he is our brother. One day we will all live together again, and it is a peace that has carried me through the rockiest parts of my life. I say this in full faith in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith through callings extended through my church. I have been a youth leader in my early teenage years, I have been a teacher to the children in our church, and I have been a pianist for church meetings. Whatever calling it may be, though some seem more important than others, I know if I maximize my calling and put in my best effort then I can become closer to the Lord and a better person as a whole. Most recently, I have been called to serve as a missionary in the Argentina Bahia Blanca mission. I hope to exemplify my calling to the fullest and entirely devote myself to the Lord. I can do this, if through no other way, by being an example. This is a way for anyone to live their faith. I think one of the most important callings is to live your faith simply and fully, showing the world God's love for them by being an example of what it means to love and serve.
