Hi I'm Sarah Madsen

I grew up in Utah. I love cats. I'm a Mormon. :)

About Me

I am an 19 year old LDS missionary. Before I was a college student at Utah State University. I am the baby of the family with three other siblings, two sisters, and a brother. I love love love cats! I love all animals! I love performing in any manner! I danced for ten years. I did cheerleading in jr. high school. I did drill team my sophomore year of high school. I was in the school musical my junior and senior year. I was in theater class since I was a sophomore and made it into the advanced class as a senior. I still participate in community theater. I have had the opportunity to be in the musicals Curtains, Fiddler on the Roof, and Singing in the Rain. In Fiddler on the Roof I got to be Fruma Sarah the butchers dead wife, pretty fitting with my name! Since I was "a ghost" I got to "fly" by being hoisted up thirty feet in a harness! It was awesome, not to mention my twenty foot long dress! I am studying interior design at Utah State University. I love designing, decorating, and just being crafty! I love to travel. Last summer I had the opportunity to go to Europe on an art history trip and it was incredible! I am now serving my mission and will soon depart to the Georgia Atlanta North area!

Why I am a Mormon

I was lucky to be raised as a Mormon. Both of my parents are of this faith, and that is what I have grown up with. My fathers parents are staunch anti-Mormons, through all the battle of my father staying of this faith despite his parents wishes, I figured it must be worthwhile. I am a Mormon because it makes me happy. I am a Mormon because I find truth in its teachings. I am a Mormon because I want to be. To me it wouldn't matter if I died and look back on my life and realize the church weren't true because I have lived such a meaningful and happy life because of it. The beauty of that is that it is true. I know that this is God's church on the earth today. I know that this is the same church Jesus Christ organized in biblical times. I love this church so much. I get to be part of something so magnificent. I am part of the largest women's organization of the world. I get to serve others. I get to have the surety that my sins can be given through the selfless act of love we call the Atonement of Jesus Christ. I get to know that God truly listens to my prayers and answers them. I get to have direction from God through the prophets of old through scripture as well as revelation given to living prophets today. I get to have comfort from the Book of Mormon in all its teachings and of the truthfulness therein. I testify this is the Church of God. I testify that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. I testify that President Thomas S. Monson, our beloved prophet, is a seer and revelator called of God. I testify that the power of the priesthood is powerful and was restored by Joseph Smith. I testify that Joseph Smith was a true prophet and did restore God's church. Above all I testify that this church changes lives. It brings such joy and profound answers that can not be found anywhere else. This church is true. Ask for yourselves and you will find what you are looking for. I testify of these things in the name of our Savior, Jesus Christ, amen.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by going to our church meetings every Sunday. I have been in several presidencies for the young women, ages 12 to 18. I got to organize a youth New Year's Eve activity. I got to plan activities for the women of our community to get together once every few months. I sing in our church's choir and I love it! I am now living my faith by sharing the gospel with the people of Georgia as I am now a full time missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints! P.S. I love it. Missions are the best! :)
