Hi I'm Abigail

I grew up in Utah. I aspire to be an author someday. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a student at BYU studying English. I enjoy reading and writing. I like to read young adult literature, fantasy, and science fiction mostly. But I also enjoy most of the readings for my English classes. I hope to be an author someday. I have worked in multiple libraries. I would like to receive my Masters of Library Science degree. I enjoy traveling. I have been to Germany, Switzerland, Austria, and China. While in China, I volunteered as an English teacher at an elementary school. I hope to continue traveling and serving.

Why I am a Mormon

After a period of inactivity in the church, my family began going again. I had to take the missionary discussions in order to be baptized because I was over the age of eight. It was through this experience that I gained a testimony of the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ by praying and pondering the things the missionaries taught me. I know that God answers prayers. I know that the Holy Spirit can and will testify of the truthfulness of the gospel if we sincerely seek for it. I know that Jesus Christ died for the sins of all mankind and that through him we can repent. I know that because of the Plan of Salvation, Heavenly Father's plan for each of us, we can return to live as families with Him in heaven when we repent and obey the commandments. I know the Book of Mormon to be another testament of Jesus Christ. I have read it and prayed about it. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet and that it was through him that God restored the gospel to the Earth. I know that God speaks to the entire world today through modern prophets. I am grateful for my testimony and faith because it makes me a happier person; it gives me hope.

How I live my faith

In my ward I have been a teacher for young children in Primary. My most recent teaching assignment was as a teacher for the five-year-old class. I loved these children and it was a great opportunity for me to help in my community. I have also served as a volunteer at my local library. I put away books, cleaned, and organized. I thoroughly enjoyed this chance to give back to my community. Doing service is a part of my faith and by being a volunteer I have been able to live my faith.
