Hi I'm Benjie

I love the outdoors. I grew up in South Carolina. I'm a brother and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the only member of my immediate family that goes to church actively. I am planning on going to college for physics and secondary education. I'm currently serving as a full time missionary. I was born and raised in Union, South Carolina and I love it there. I gained a great interest in physics over time as I watched different programs about physics when I was young and finally feel in love with it as I took my first physics class in school. I enjoy being able to go outside and take a long walk through a field to relax. My belief in Jesus Christ has allowed me to find beauty in all these things.

Why I am a Mormon

I was baptized when I was 8 because both of my parents were members and my grandparents wanted me to be; I had not been to church since I was around 4. I didn't go to church until I was 14 when my grandfather died. At that time I decided that family was the most important thing to me and started going to church with my grandmother. After about a year I had realized that the church was true. I began to repent of my past and felt relief of the guilt and shame of the negative things I had done. When I repented through the atonement of Jesus Christ it felt like the world had been lifted off my shoulders. I know the church is the one true church on the earth today and that Jesus Christ is my savior and redeemer. I know that the Book of Mormon is true and that Thomas S. Monson is a living prophet on the earth today; I know all of these things because I opened my heart and prayed to Heavenly Father in faith. When He answered my prayers I acted on that answer and devoted my life to Him and His work.

How I live my faith

I come from a branch with an average attendance of around 20 people each week. I am currently serving a full time mission in Arizona. My purpose as a missionary is to help others come closer to Jesus Christ through faith, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end. Before I went on my mission I was the Sunday school teacher for the youth (12-18 year-old youth).
