Hi I'm Mat Smith

I grew up in Provo, I am serving a mission in the Maryland Baltimore Mission, and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

Music is my passion. I love all sorts of music and my favorite pass time is playing my guitar. I love listening to music and I love going to concerts. I love watching movies, playing and watching sports, playing video games, camping, fishing hiking, the list goes on.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have found The Book of Mormon to be true and have learned that the teachings of the prophets are true. My life has been extremely blessed by living the gospel and abiding by its precepts.

How I live my faith

In the church we have different standards and responsibilities that we are held accountable for and in my life I have found that the best way to follow in those things is by setting the best example you can for others around you. I am serving a mission right now in Baltimore and I wear a name tag that not only has my name but it has Jesus Christ's name on it. I try to represent him the best I can every single day, and I try to show his example to everyone. It isn't always easy to live a Christlike lifestyle, but if we pray to God we will always receive strength to overcome our trials, and answers to any of our questions. We can always find comfort in the Gospel.

What is the priesthood?

Mat Smith
The Priesthood is God's authority and power given to men. God gives his authority and reveals his teachings through prophets. The prophets of old were killed and the authority was lost until Joseph Smith restored this authority back on the earth. Through this authority we can receive special blessings, we can be baptized, we can receive the gift of the Holy Ghost, and we can receive the Lord's greatest gift to us, eternal life. Why is family so important to Mormons?

Mat Smith
Our families are the most important people in our lives. We are raised up by them, and the way we learn from them, effects our entire lives. Our families are what keep us pressing forward and influence our actions. We want to be able to live with them, and love them for all eternity. We focus on having our families, and follow Jesus Christ's example so we can all live together again in the afterlife. Show more Show less
