Hi I'm Craig Eves

I grew up in an Air Force Military family. Love the green hills of Alabama and the snowy mountains of Colorado. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a student enrolled at Brigham Young University. I enjoy reading sci-fi, adventure, fantasy, and many other genres; my favorites being Ender's Game and any of the Star Wars canon. I love going outside and having my own mini-adventures, like hiking and seeing the local sites. I'm like a jack of all trades in sports, but soccer and running is my favorite. Watching thunderstorms and sitting around campfires are very relaxing and enjoyable with my family. My family is the center of my world. I have a twin brother that means everything to me and I take every opportunity I can to spend time with my siblings and even babysit the nieces and nephews. We take every moment we can to be together and strive to stay well connected, though we are very spread out across the United States.

Why I am a Mormon

I have always had the Church around me while growing up. I was raised in the faith and the standards were taught and followed in my home. I knew that my parents really loved me and even though I didn't see eye-to-eye on a few things with them they knew it would be in my best interest to stay safe and healthy. During high school I faced a dilemma that challenged everything I've been taught while growing up. I needed to make the decision whether I would keep believing in the Mormon faith for myself or I would fall away and find something else. Much like my parents knew what would be in my best interest, I knew that my God would too. So I read the scriptures and prayed to know if it was true, and if it was then to have the courage to make the right choice. I received my answer, I knew that the Book of Mormon is true, that the Mormon faith was of God. Nothing in the church taught anything but to be good and follow Christ, and that made me happy. I'm a Mormon because it brings peace and joy into my life. And I can enjoy and share that with my family and those that I love around me. I'm a Mormon because I know that it is right and true.

How I live my faith

Staying obedient is a key factor for how I live my faith. In Jesus Christ church it's virtually impossible to progress spiritually if we aren't doing what we know to be right and true for ourselves. Jesus Christ lived the perfect example of how we should behave and treat our fellow men. So what I try to do is work on something that I know can be better until I know it's not an issue anymore. By daily studying of the scriptures and praying to Heavenly Father for guidance I know what I need to do to be better myself, and also help someone else have a better day too. I go to Church every Sunday to help me refocus my goals in life and strengthen my spiritual foundation for what I know to be true. If I never tried to better myself, I could never help someone else that may need help more than I do. Loving everyone for who they are and trying to do what is right helps me feel peace in my life and true happiness.
