Hi I'm Jessica

I grew up in the US and Canada. I am a college student. I am a trumpet player and motorcycle rider. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a person that loves family, music, and motorcycles. I love anything that gets me to the forest. There is a huge amount of peace that I receive from being out in the mountains, away from cities. Some of the best times of my life have been out in nature. We are incredibly blessed to live on such a beautiful earth! Our Father in Heaven knew what He was doing when He told the Savior to create this world. My family is my world. I have 2 great parents and 4 brothers. My father and I love to go fly fishing together. We aren't big on hunting but shooting practice is also fun. Being the only girl sibling, my brothers definitely keep me on my toes. Patience is often a very important trait in my family that many of us lack. We aren't a perfect family but I couldn't imagine it any other way. They make my life great. Currently I am attending university. It's a pretty great opportunity with lots of challenges but even more blessings. I am a trumpet player for my university's marching band. This has been an incredible experience. I am also a Mormon. I have been a member my whole life but I haven't always had a strong testimony. Through this church I have been able to grow in ways that I could never grow on my own. Who I am can really be defined by this church and by the things that I have been taught. I know this church is true!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because being so makes me very happy. Of course, there are still hard times. But the peace that I have received from the truth of this gospel is very much worth it. I know that our Savior died for all of us. I know that we can be forgiven for all of our past transgressions. We don't have to be perfect to be disciples. We just have to have faith in Christ and faith that He can save us. I know that He loves us. I know that our Father in Heaven loves us. I know that this church is true. I know that families were meant to be forever and that through the atonement and plan of salvation they can be. I know that this church is not an easy one to be a member of. But I know that it is worth it. I also know that our prophet is called of God. I know He speaks to us. I know He knows each of us by name and cares about us more than we can ever know. He wants us to return to Him. He has given us temples that we might make and keep the covenants that will help us do so. I love this church. I would have a much different life if I didn't have a Savior. I have witnessed the power of the atonement in my life and I know that it is a real power. All of us can receive a remission of our sins. All of us can receive peace in times of turmoil and trial. It's amazing. I choose to be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints for a lot of reasons. But the most important reason is because of the worth I feel. The world can try to tell us what makes us important and valuable. But their reasons are false. We are all children of God. We have incredible divine potential to become like our Father in Heaven one day. I know that we all have incredible worth. Through this church I have been able to come to love myself, despite not looking like a super model or TV star. Our Father tells us what is really important. His way is the only way to true happiness, to truly see how very important and beautiful each of us are.

How I live my faith

I am living my faith by choosing to serve a mission. I have been called to serve in the Argentina Comodoro Rivadavia mission. I leave on June 19, 2013 which just so happens to be in 3 days. I'm very excited to serve a mission. I am also fairly scared and unsure of myself. I do know however that through our loving Savior we can do all things. And despite my fears, I am looking forward to witnessing the power of God and missionary work. I know that He loves all of us so much.
