Hi I'm Lydia

I'm Brazilian, a college student, a loving aunt, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Brasil and miss my family and friends very much. But right now, I am here in the States to get a good education. I am studying Nutrition, and plan to graduate in about three years. I work part time at the university's food department, and enjoy it very much! I am excited to graduate and work in my field. Meanwhile, I enjoy studying and having fun! My brother always says: "work hard, play hard". My friends and I love bonfires, roasting marshmallows and starbursts. I love to sing, watch movies, cook, take long walks, call my sister, paint my nails with my roommates and read a good book.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in a family that had been LDS for years. I love my parents for taking me to church since I was little. I am even more grateful for my parents because they taught me, at a certain age, that I had to start going to church because I wanted to, not because I had to. I read the Book of Mormon for the first time right before I turned 12. I then prayed, in faith that God would answer whether that book was true. I felt a strong reassurance that that book was truly written by prophets and translated by Joseph Smith, by the power of God. I love this gospel. It brings so much joy, freedom, and comfort to my life. I have faith in Jesus Christ and his Atonement. I know it is only through him that I can repent of my sins, and be forgiven in order to go back to his presence one day and live with my family for eternity. Our Heavenly Father loves us so much, and I feel His love every day and every where I go. In this troubled world that we live in, the gospel of Jesus Christ is the only thing that keeps people going. I am a Mormon and always will be. I live it, I love it.

How I live my faith

I attend church meetings every Sunday and help in the activities committee for the women in the ward. We plan and execute activities that can integrate the women and help them develop skills and have fun! I love going to the church activities and meetings to learn more about the gospel, to share and live our faith. My testimony is strengthened every time I read the scriptures and pray. I love praying to my Heavenly Father, thanking him for my many blessings. I also find guidance and comfort when I pray to Him. Living the gospel every day is how I live my faith. I am far from perfect, and have a whole life time to try to be like our Savior Jesus Christ.
