Hi I'm Travis Killian

I was born in raised in Colorado, I love the adrenaline rush, I love music, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently enrolled at Brigham Young University, where I plan to study acoustical engineering. I also served a mission in Long Beach, California for two years. Aside from school I love being outdoors. God has given us such a wonderful world, we might as well enjoy it. I enjoy anything that has to do with adrenaline such as mountain biking, snowboarding, and wake boarding. I am an Eagle Scout through the Boy Scouts of America. I also love music, strumming the guitar or playing my french horn makes me happy. I have also been into hunting my entire life, its a fun way to connect with my past and my father.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I do not have a conversion story from on religion to this one like many others of this faith but rather a conversion story of who I was to who I am today. Because I was born into the church I used to not appreciate my values as I do today. I took what I had for granted. I had been taught my whole life who God wanted me to be and how I should act, but it never really sunk in. I got into a rough crowd when i reached the age of 14, and started to care less about my values. Each day I did more wrong and fell further away from the feeling of comfort I once received from God. One day when I was alone, I was having a really hard time so I decided that I needed to assess my life and what I had let it become. I was disappointed and ashamed of myself because I had lost what I once held strong. I decided to pray to God and ask him for help, I asked him for reassurance that I believed the gospel to be true. I also asked for forgiveness for what I had done. After I was finished praying I began to look for answers to my prayers and found them. It didn't come in a right way but it came over time through friends, family, and feelings of peace and joy. Because of this experience I had a change of heart and began realign my life with God's values and expectations for me . It brings me comfort everyday when I live the way that is asked of me by our Heavenly Father. I will always be proud to be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because I know that it is true. I know that this gospel was restored to the earth today so that we may all live with our Heavenly Father again one day.

How I live my faith

I live my faith everyday by being the best that I can be. I always try to remember who I am as a person and who I am in the Lords eyes. Everyday I strive to live up to promises I have made with God and try to be as Christlike as possible. Within the Church I decided to serve a mission for the length of two years, where each day I preached the word of God to those who were willing to listen. I also help out in my home ward by being an example to the youth and helping them achieve their life goals through Christ's Church. Each day is an opportunity to serve whether great or small, so I pray and seek for those chances. Also I share the truths that bring me joy, because there is no joy in being selfish with happiness and peace. I live my faith by acting as I believe, and I believe that I should be who God wants me to be.
