Hi I'm Matthew Austin

I enjoy playing all sports. I love competition. I like learning new things. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I love playing football, basketball, golf, frisbee, soccer, tennis and volleyball. Anything active really. I played on my high school basketball team for a couple years. I attend college and I am thinking about going to medical school. After my freshman year of college, I went on a mission for my church to London, England for two years to share the gospel of Jesus Christ. I enjoy reading, watching movies and playing Xbox 360 and Nintendo. I have quite the sweet tooth and I am a big Dr. Seuss fan. My favorite actor is Will Smith. I love watching ESPN, college athletics and pro sports. I have 3 siblings so there are 6 of us total in the family. I have an older sister a younger sister and an older brother.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I have felt the Spirit of the Lord testify to me that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is Christ's true church on the Earth today. I grew up in Utah, where my family and I have been life long members of the church. Even though I was raised a Mormon, I still had to become converted just like anyone else. Through seeing the examples of my parents and my own daily scripture study, daily prayer, weekly church meetings and teachings of the prophets and church leaders, I have received many witnesses that this church is true. Being a Mormon has brought me deep happiness and joy and led me in the right direction in life. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior. His sacrifice allows to be cleansed and have the power to change. I know that God called Joseph Smith to be a prophet to restore Christ's true church to the Earth. I know that through the power of God, Joseph translated the Book of Mormon, which is another testimony of Jesus Christ. I know the Book of Mormon to be the word of God. I know that we have a loving Father in Heaven who wants to bless us with all that he has. I know that there is a prophet on the Earth today who leads and guides this church. He receives revelation for our day. This knowledge means everything to me. It gives my life meaning and purpose. It gives me happiness and joy that I know I cannot find anywhere else in life.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith by striving every day to become a better person. I want to help those around me and help others to be happy. I pray morning and night and read the scriptures daily to strengthen my faith in Jesus Christ. I go to church every Sunday and accept assignments and responsibilities given to me by local church leaders so I can help the congregation and community. I volunteered to go on a two year mission to London, England to share the gospel with the wonderful people there! I continue to try and share that message in word and deed in my everyday life.
