Hi I'm Megan

I'm a math tutor, a musician, and a college student. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 18 years old, and I am the oldest child in my family with 3 younger siblings. I'm a college student, majoring in Elementary Education. I love reading, learning, and teaching. I am a math tutor, and a piano teacher. I also love music and enjoy playing the piano and ukulele, and singing in choirs.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in an LDS family, so when I was eight I knew that being baptized was the right thing for me to do. But as I've grown older and my testimony has grown even more, I know with even more surety that this church is true. Every day that I live the gospel in accordance with the teachings from the Book of Mormon, I feel a sense of peace that doesn't come any other way. I love the spirit of hope and comfort that this gospel brings to my life. Without the gospel, my life would be very different. I love knowing that I can turn to my Heavenly Father whenever I need His help and knowing that He knows me and loves me and wants me to return to Him. I am so grateful for the life of Christ, our Savior, and the Atonement He made that allows us, through repentance, to return to our Heavenly Father completely clean of all our sins. I'm a Mormon, and I love it!

How I live my faith

I attend 3 hours of church meetings every sunday, and I read from the Book of Mormon daily to help strengthen my testimony. Along with these things, I am also preparing to serve a mission for the church, to bring others closer to Christ.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Megan
Not everyone is required to go on a mission. Worthy priesthood holders (men) who are of age (18 years old) are strongly encouraged to go on a mission. For women, it is a personal choice, and those who are 19 or older and feel like they should go are welcomed into the mission field. For example: I, a 18 year old woman, have prayed and felt that now is the right time for me to serve a mission, so I have made the necessary preparations so I will be able to go when I turn 19. Missions are voluntary, and it is a way for us as members of this church to show our love for the Lord, as well as our love for other people, by spreading the gospel throughout the world.
