Hi I'm Jessica Doud

I am a Chemical Engineer, a musician, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am going to college at Brigham Young University. I study hard most of the time, but in my spare time I like to read, play the piano, sing, watch movies, and go hiking.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because I know that the Book of Mormon is a true book. I know that Joseph Smith saw Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and was given the power to translate the Book of Mormon so that we can learn from it. It is important to me to act upon that knowledge by studying the Book of Mormon daily and living the values found within it. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was established based upon the foundations of the Book of Mormon, with a prophet and apostles on the earth today to help us become more Christ-like.

How I live my faith

I am the Choir Director for my ward, which means that I organize and conduct rehearsals on a weekly basis for the members of my ward, making sure that everyone can feel the spirit through music as we prepare to sing in church and for other occasions. I love having the chance to work with the wonderful people in my ward and hearing all of the musical talent that they have. I also live my faith in many other ways, through attending activities, going to church every Sunday, and studying the scriptures every day. I also try to live my values through not drinking coffee, tea, or alcohol, through living a healthy life, and through keeping the Sabbath day holy.

To what do you attribute the growth of the Church?

Jessica Doud
The Church continues to grow because the Church is true. It can sometimes be hard to live all of the principles of the church, but when you know the truth it becomes easy. The Church helps life make sense for me, and I want to share that with others. I served a mission in the Philippines, where I spent many months learning the language and teaching lessons because I truly believe that the message of the gospel will help others. I hope more people read the Book of Mormon and pray about it, because that will bring them happiness faster than any other source. Show more Show less
