Hi I'm Melissa Tingey

I've grown up in Utah. I plan on studying Psychology at the U of U. I am a Missionary serving in Argentina. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I did gymnastics growing up, and I now coach it because I love it! I enjoy playing piano and being outdoors. I like to play any sport, but I don't really enjoy watching it as much. I am serving a mission in Salta Argentina and I couldn't be more excited! I love the Gospel and all it has to offer! I have a great family and I love to spend as much time with them as possible. I feel so blessed to be able to have them for eternity, by the power of the Atonement and God's love for us. I have grown up with two sisters and no brothers, but I am getting a brother-in-law soon and I am very excited!

Why I am a Mormon

I have always grown up in Utah and had the church influence as a big part of my life. I love this gospel because of the happiness and love that is provided by our Loving Heavenly Father. I have come to love the Book of Mormon as I continually read it daily. I love the temple and all the blessings that are provided when we are worthy to enter and feel the Lord's presence. I am very grateful for the examples of my parents and their desires and faithful decisions to serve missions as well and then be married in the temple so that I can be with them forever. I am grateful for the faith of all the prophets and mainly Joseph Smith who desired to search for the truth and later restored this great gospel by seeing Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I know that God loves me so much that he sent Jesus Christ down to this earth to not only Atone for us, but make a way that is possible for me to return home to be in their presence. I find great peace and comfort knowing that I have made the proper choice and I know that I am loved by our Heavenly Father because of everything he has helped me with in my life as well as what he has given me as well. I am grateful for the chance I have to go and be his hands in Argentina as I serve him. I know that I can do anything with his help, but mainly that I am never left alone. He is always with me, and will be as I strive to live how he would have me do so.

How I live my faith

I held the callings all throughout Young Women's such as Beehive president and first counselor as well as in the Miamaids. I was in the Singles Ward where I was called to be a dessert night coordinator. I received my Young Women's Award right when the new value of Virtue came out. I completed that as well, and worked to receive my bee as well. I loved Seminary in high school as well as the Institute program at the U of U. I live my faith by wearing a name badge with the Savior's name next to mine. I am preaching the gospel and show my faith by living the life of a missionary.
