Hi I'm Emilee

I Sing, Read, Family Oriented and I'm a Member (and Missionary) of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, aka Mormon

About Me

I recently just finished my first year of college. It was a blast. I was born and raised in an LDS home. A couple of things I love to do is spend time with family, spend time with friends, cross-stitch, work, embroider pillow cases and other things, and much more. I am currently on my mission in the Redlands California Mission, I'm super excited to be serving my Father in Heaven.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born LDS, yet I have had many personal experiences that testify to me that this church is true. One such instance that continues to be a testimony in my life was when I was a eighth grader in Junior High School. I was struggling with my friends and didn't know what to do so one night I fell to my knees and begged my Heavenly Father to help me in the trial that I was facing at that time. A couple of weeks later I learned that my prayer was answered, and God continues to answer my prayers to this day. He will always answer your prayers in His time.

How I live my faith

I practice/live my faith through service. If anyone needs help I'm usually there. I am currently serving as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints as well.

What does Mormonism teach regarding baptism?

Emilee
Baptism is an essential part of our religion. The only way we can be saved and return to live in the Kingdom of God is to follow His, Jesus Christ, example as taught in Matthew 3:13-17 and be baptized by someone holding the authority of God. We call this the Priesthood. You may hear people talk about a gate into Heaven and that Peter, one of Christ's apostles, guards that gate. That is not essentially true. Yes there is a gate into Heaven and that gate is called baptism. The only way we can return to live with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ is to be baptized. This is why it is essential to our religion because without baptism none of us can be saved. I know that to be true. So. Will you follow the example of Jesus Christ and be baptized by someone holding the priesthood authority of God? If so, tell a missionary as soon as possible. Love you all. Show more Show less

Are Mormons Christians?

Emilee
Very much so. Our true name is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. We're known as Mormons because of the Book of Mormon, but we do not worship a guy named Mormon. It is only a nick-name. We honor Mormon for the things that he did as a prophet of the Lord when he was here on Earth and his and other prophets writings in the Book of Mormon only testify of the divinity of Christ and His Gospel. We teach the same things that Christ did when He was on this Earth. I personally know for myself that Jesus is the Christ and that He loves and wants everyone to be with Him and Heavenly Father again. I know I died personally for me and everyone else. He is my Savior and Redeemer. I know we can all come to this knowledge and help others as well through the His Gospel. Which we teach today. Show more Show less
