Hi I'm Nicole

I'm a student. I'm a daughter, a sister, an aunt, and a friend. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm currently a student at the University of Utah. I absolutely love the chance that I have to get an education, and I hope to be able to turn my schooling into a career that I love and that makes a positive difference in the world. Right now, though, I'm taking a break from school to serve a full-time mission in New Jersey. I love music of all kinds, both listening to it and making it. My "happy place" is anywhere out in the beauty of nature, whether it be hiking, skiing, playing on the beach, or just exploring the world around me. I'm at my best when I'm learning and growing. Above all else, spending time with family and friends is what I value.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of the peace and the joy that living this Gospel brings to me. I grew up in Utah with a very strong LDS family, and in a strong LDS community. This was my rock and an incredible support system to me while I went through those tough growing-up years. And really, I am still growing up, and these amazing people are still there for me! But it does go deeper than that. I moved out to go to school a few years ago, and it was suddenly up to me to continue on in my faith. It seemed like it would have been easy for me to give up putting any effort into staying strong in the Church, and I have had some rockier times when it came to that, but I found that life was so much better when I was actively trying to live the things that I knew to be true. I have had too many experiences and felt too much peace within this Gospel to ever deny that it is the most important part of my life. And I love the emphasis that is placed on family, because my family is central to my life and to my happiness. The feelings I get when my family is all together and united in the Gospel are undoubtedly real and beautiful. I know that every single one of us has ups and downs in this life, but if we have faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, all will be right in the end, because He wants us to succeed and is there to support us. I love this Gospel.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by first and foremost trying to be a good example and a good influence on those around me. Whether I am interacting with those of my faith or those who aren't, I try my hardest to be true and faithful to the things I believe, and to represent these things well while still loving and respecting those around me. I'm so far from perfect, but I have found that I am my happiest when I try to love everyone with a Christ-like love no matter who they are or the choices they make. I'm so grateful for the chance I've been given to serve a mission, to forget myself in the service of others, and to share the things I believe in that bring me so much joy with anyone I can.
