Hi I'm Scott

I'm a Mormon! :)

About Me

I come from a family of five. I am the middle child and have two brothers. I am 19 years old and just completed my first year of college at the University of Utah. I will be serving a mission for the next two years of my life. I love to be active. I enjoy and spend a ton of time playing sports with all the neighborhood guys. We are always playing basketball in a gym, football on a field, or volleyball in a friends backyard. I absolutely love my family and spend most of my time with my brothers. You will find us playing ping pong in the basement, hitting a little white ball around a golf course, or enjoying a good movie. There is nothing I appreciate more than the beauty of nature and incredible majesty of this world. I developed this love from a childhood full of hiking, biking, fishing, and camping. My favorite vacations have included backpacking into Coyote Gulch and Yellowstone National Park. I love to eat out and enjoy a Chinese dish more than the rest. I also love to read and play games. Most of all I love the Gospel of Jesus Christ and being immersed in the scriptures each day!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because I know it is true. It brings peace, love, and happiness into my life. I know that this is Jesus Christ's church restored to the earth through the prophet Joseph Smith. I know that the Book of Mormon, like the Bible, is the word of God. I know that we have a living prophet on the earth today- President Thomas S. Monson. I know without a doubt that God lives and that He is our loving Heavenly Father and we are His children. Because of this great love for us He sent His son Jesus Christ to provide a way for us to return to Him. Jesus Christ lives. I know these things are true because the spirit has borne witness to me of their truth. I can never deny this because I have prayed and received my answer of the truth. I continue to grow stronger and stronger in my faith as I read from the scriptures and pray to my Heavenly Father each day. This gospel is true! It is Jesus Christ's church on the earth today and he is the head of it.

How I live my faith

Living my faith is the greatest and most rewarding experience in my life. As I study the words of the prophets in the scriptures I am filled with a desire to continue to build my faith in Jesus Christ and to become a more Christ-like individual. There is nothing I want more than to become like Jesus Christ. I strive each day to be better than I was the day before. Continual progression is my goal. Each day I make mistakes and errors along the way but I can rely on Jesus Christ and his Atonement to be forgiven and cleansed from sin. I can also rely on His strength to help me overcome my challenges and ultimately press forward in my goal to become like Christ. I have also had the wonderful opportunity to serve in the church. I have been able to serve on various youth councils as well as provide music for meetings through my piano and organ playing.
