Hi I'm Ashley

I'm a sophomore at BYU majoring in psychology.

About Me

I am a sophomore in college majoring in psychology. The gospel, family, and music are the three most important aspects of my life. I had four years of private voice lessons and six years of piano lessons. Music has always had a special place in my heart and I have a deep appreciation for the power of music. I am preparing to serve a full-time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I will be serving in the Philippines speaking the Tagalog language.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know this gospel is true. The gospel of Jesus Christ brings true joy and peace. I have come to know through sincere prayer and thoughtful study of the scriptures that this church is the Lord's kingdom here on earth. I feel the Spirit so strongly when I go to church meetings or attend the Temple worthily. I know that God has a very important plan for my life and that this church is part of it. I know that I have a loving Heavenly Father who would never leave His children without light or guidance. I know that He restored the gospel through His prophet Joseph Smith in order to bring light to the world and help us see through the darkness. I know that He loves us and that He wants every single one of His children to return to Him and to live with Him in joy and peace. My ultimate goal is to return back to His loving presence and partake of the glory of God. I know that as I keep the commandments which He has revealed to His prophets, I will be able to reach my full potential. This is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I have had the opportunity to do much service in the church. From age 13 to age 18 I was able to be a youth group leader. My responsibilities included watching out for the other girls, praying for them, and extending an arm of friendship and comfort to any who were in need. When I graduated high school I was able to begin teaching a Sunday School class of five-year-olds. I absolutely love children and this was a wonderful experience. More recently I have been able to hold the position of secretary for a group of college-aged women. My responsibilities included record keeping and looking out for any women who might be in need of help. I am currently preparing to serve a full-time mission for the church where I will teach the gospel in the Philippines. I am excited for this opportunity to serve my Heavenly Father with all of my heart, might, mind, and strength and to help bring His children to the knowledge of their Savior.
