Hi I'm Addi Mejia

Born in San Diego. Love to camp and enjoy the beauty of nature. I am a daughter, sister, and I am Mormon.

About Me

My name is Addilene. I love to ready books (romance novels). I love to travel. I have been to Ireland and London where it is really cold but beautiful. Mexico is lovely, the beaches there are so clear. I hope someday I will have gone all around the world. I love camping and watching the stars shine brightly. Taking walks and enjoying the beautiful nature that surrounds us each day.

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a Mormon? Well, when my parents [who are members] came to the United States, they stayed with some members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. They were both investigating the church at that time and well fell in love. They decided to get married and here I am now ready to serve a mission. As I was growing up learning about the gospel my whole life, I decided that I didn't want to learn anymore. But I continued going to church because deep down in my heart I knew that the gospel of Jesus Christ is true. I knew and know that God loves each and everyone of us and that he is waiting for us to return to his presence. I know that through the atonement of Jesus Christ we can return as long as we strive to keep his commandments. I remember when I was in the primary and we would sing songs like "I am trying to be like Jesus" or "Follow the Prophet" the feeling of my love towards Heavenly Father was strong. I felt safe and like a true daughter of a someone who was looking over me. Now that I am older I have the very special opportunity to see my two little sisters sing in the primary program each year and the very strong spirit that is felt as the little children sing is so powerful. It is truly an amazing feeling to have the spirit testify that Christ lives and that our Father in heaven loves us. I know that he takes care of us even when we feel lonely and we are truly never alone. I know that if we strive to read the scriptures everyday they will guide us and teach us of how we are to return home someday. I know that through prayer we will receive answers, if we ask with great faith and a sincere heart. That through prayer we can communicate with him who lives above, who guides and loves us. We are truly blessed to have the gospel here on earth. And I am grateful that my parents found the church because of them I am Mormon. I love it and live it.

How I live my faith

I try to be a great example to my friends who are not members. I share the gospel with them and all the wonderful blessings I have experienced. I think what I love most about my friends is that they love me and encourage me to do good. I also love to help with camp for the young women by being a leader, an example to them. Helping with the beautiful teachings of why we are so special. I am getting ready to serve a mission and I think this is one of the greatest opportunities I have to serve my Heavenly Father and my brethren. The Lord said in John 14:15 "If ye love me, keep my commandments." And one of the commandments we are given is to love one another "A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciple, if ye have love one to another" (John 13:34-35). I think that we show our great love to our brethren by teaching them of the gospel. By telling them that they are loved by a Heavenly Father who is always watching and guiding us. I love to read the scriptures and sharing them with my friends and family.
