Hi I'm McKelle

I have a big love for outdoor activities. The gospel brings me happiness. I love finding joy in the journey. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

A college student and outdoor enthusiast currently serving an LDS mission in Tennessee. Hobbies include hiking, backpacking, climbing, camping, biking, rafting, other outside activities, tennis, and, of course, studying my scriptures and doing missionary work! I love learning new things and being proactive. I love people, especially my family and friends. And most importantly, because of life experience, I believe that true and everlasting happiness can only come through the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, but that doesn't mean I was converted at birth. I wasn't truly converted until I had read the Book of Mormon for the first time with the intent to know of its truthfulness for myself. I knew the Bible was the word of God, but I was wavering with the Book of Mormon. I read the promise in the "Introduction" of the Book of Mormon and I put it to the test. As I read, I had experiences with the Book of Mormon that brought peace and joy into my life. It answered many of my prayers and strengthened me when I felt I couldn't continue. When I prayed to know of its truthfulness I felt a burning in my heart and clarity in my mind (the Holy Spirit of God testifying to me of truth) and I knew, for myself, that the Book of Mormon was true. After that experience I knew that the Book of Mormon was the word of God and another testament of Jesus Christ. I knew Joseph Smith restored Christ's church, I knew that there was a living prophet who had a direct line to our Father in heaven, I knew that I was a daughter of God, I knew that Jesus Christ atoned for my sins and suffered for each one of us, I knew that God has a plan for me and that I am able to return back to him if I do my part. I knew these things to be true then, and I do now with even greater depth. My testimony has been tried and beaten down, but I have always stayed firm in my beliefs as I have leaned on the strengthening power of the Atonement of Jesus Christ and continued to read my scriptures and pray daily, and go to church weekly. Because of this testimony, I have been transformed and changed through Christ! It is truly a miracle!

How I live my faith

I live my faith by always living and ACTING on the values, standards, and teachings of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Continually trying to follow in the footsteps of our savior Jesus Christ! I also live my faith by sharing it with everyone because IT'S THE GREATEST MESSAGE IN THE WORLD!!!!
