Hi I'm Marie Bardsley

I'm a Mesoamerican archaeologist, a ballroom dancer and a true Seattlite through and through. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 20 years old. I am currently serving a mission in Arcadia CA, for the church, and I LOVE IT! It has been the most rewarding period of my life. I also love old abandoned buildings and mummies and basically cultural artifacts of all types. I hope to go into Mesoamerican archaeology and iconography. Iconography is the interpretation of the symbols of a culture. It is a beautiful mix between art history and archaeology. I love to see the similarities and differences of cultures around the world. I am kind of a nerd; I love to watch Nova and pretty much any documentaries that I can find. I study at Brigham Young University. I am also a competitive ballroom dancer. During the school year, I dance 5-6 hours a day. This gets me through life because I am a mover and a day long of anthropology/archaeology classes without some movement breaks is killer. I love to hike, be adventurous, and explore. Give me a mountain and I will feel compelled to climb it. Oh, and on that note, the Seattle area is the most beautiful place on earth.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have personally prayed to God and felt that this is His true church on the earth. That the atonement can wipe us of our sins, that we have a prophet who receives revelation from God to guide us, and that the Book of Mormon is another testament of Christ. I am a mormon because denying the truth I have felt of this religion would be lying to myself.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to be kind and accepting to everyone I meet, no matter their background or religion. The message of Christ and His atonement really is for everyone.
