Hi I'm Katie

I love sunshine, ocean, and longboards. I'm a California native. I'm a missionary in Spokane, Washington, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have a passion for life and adventure! My current adventure is in Spokane, Washington where I am serving a mission. I absolutely love it! There is no greater joy than that which comes from serving the Lord. I am so blessed. Aside from serving my mission, I go to school at BYU. I am pursuing a degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences and following that I plan to become a Physician Assistant. I come from a family of six. I have three incredible sisters! My parents are wonderful examples of righteous gospel living. My favorite hobby is longboarding, especially on the beach. I love the beach!! That is my place. I love soccer and running. The sunshine is one of my favorite things. I am going to be married in the temple one day, where my family will be sealed for forever! I am a bit of a cat lady. And I am also a major food fanatic! It is not very often that I say I am not up to some good grubbin'. I am happy and excited about life! God is so good. :)

Why I am a Mormon

There are a lot of perks to being Mormon. You are provided with ward families, service opportunities, fun activities, and a happy atmosphere! Although these things are awesome, there is a lot more to my faith. I am a Mormon because the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints holds the fully restored gospel. I know it! The Atonement of Jesus Christ has changed me. It is the power by which I am able to be made clean and whole. It gives me the ability to do all things. It is the means by which I find joy in this life, and I am assured to joy in the life to come. I love my Savior, Lord and Brother—Jesus Christ. “Yea, I know that I am nothing; as to my strength I am weak; therefore I will not boast of myself, but I will boast of my God, for in his strength I can do all things.” I know this gospel is true. And this is the way that I am going to return to live with God again. I know that God watches over me and loves me. He has provided this wonderful gospel so that I can have all my needs met and I can be happy. God wants me to be happy, and the same is true for everybody! This church makes me happy. And that is why I have chosen to be, love being, and will always be a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I try my best to live my faith by being an example to people around me. Christ is my rock, and I try to emulate that to others. I do my best to do what Christ would do if he were here. He would be kind and loving. He would provide service and forgive. He would be happy. I believe that faith is lived through the little things like small acts of kindness , or prayer and scripture study. That is how I live my faith.
