Hi I'm Grant

I grew up in Utah. I sing, play lacrosse, and am currently serving as a full time missionary in Oklahoma.

About Me

I grew up in Layton, Utah. I love to be active and play sports, especially lacrosse. I was one of the captains of my team senior year. I really enjoy music, and have a deep bass singing voice. I have been in choirs at my school since jr. high and really enjoy it. I particularly like a-cappella music and started my own 6 man a-capplla group in high school. I hope to continue singing throughout my life. My favorite band is Imagine Dragons. I am an Eagle Scout and I really enjoy the outdoors. I like activities such as spelunking, mountain biking, backpacking, and rappelling. I love jokes, especially cow jokes, and love to laugh and to smile!:) I enjoy being around people and hanging out with my friends. I was recently called to serve a two year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and will be leaving shortly after my high school graduation. I come from a family of five. I have two loving parents and an older brother and sister. I also have a Golden Retriever named Belle, and she is a ball of energy. I love to serve others and was chosen this year to be National Honors Society President at my high school. When I return from my mission, I want to attend either BYU-Idaho or BYU-Provo and major in business.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it makes me HAPPY!! With all the craziness that goes on in our daily lives and throughout the world, it is sometimes hard to see the good. Being a Mormon helps me see the good that is found all around us. The miracle of everyday life; a bird flying through the sky, a beautiful sunset over the Great Salt Lake, and the innocence of a newborn child. These are just a few of the things we can find joy in as a testimony that God lives and loves us. I have a testimony of being LDS. It comes from the deepest part of my heart and soul; something that was implanted there long before I came to live on this earth. It is based on the little tender mercies that I get every single day from my Heavenly Father. It is strengthen by the little thoughts and impressions that come to me when I need them, and the feelings of pure peace and joy that I get when I know that something is true and right through the power of the Holy Ghost. I am a Mormon because of the witness I feel when I have the opportunity to become an instrument in the Lord's hands. My faith is based on the teachings of The Book of Mormon, the Bible, and latter day Prophets and Apostles. Being a Mormon makes me happy because this church is a refuge from this chaotic world, It is what we need to remain joyful and optimistic. I know that I have a Heavenly Father and an Elder Brother who love me and everyone else on this earth. I also know they want us to experience happiness and freedom from sin during this life. I know that Heavenly Father sent his Son to die for you and me, and to feel every pain and sorrow that we will ever feel in this mortal life. I know that our loving Heavenly Father cares about everything we experience, even the little things that seem so unimportant, but can make the difference in our day to day lives. I know that families can be sealed together forever in God's holy temples. That is why I am a Mormon!

How I live my faith

I live my faith through service. Just like the Savior served, I try to take advantage of every opportunity I can to serve others. I also live my faith by not only going to church on Sunday, but by trying to live the gospel daily so I can be an example to those who are seeking the truth. I read from the scriptures everyday and am a leader over the youth in my general area.
