Hi I'm Jessica Howell

I was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. I love making people smile and laugh. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I attend Brigham Young University and just finished my freshman year. I plan on majoring in English and then attending Law School. I am currently preparing to serve a mission in the Nicaragua Managua North Mission and could not be more excited! I love to travel and learn of different cultures around the world. I play the piano and am currently teaching myself guitar. I love dancing and use to take ballet and hip hop classes. I am a big Duke fan and LOVE watching Duke basketball games! In addition, nature is one of my favorite things. I love being outside and participating in outdoor activities such as rock climbing, biking, and hiking. I was on my high school's lacrosse team and continue to play on an intermural team at BYU. I am the oldest of four children and I love spending time with my family. Family and friends are an essential part of my life. I love being around these amazing people. Overall, I love being a Mormon!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of the happiness and peace the Gospel brings into my life. The knowledge and love I experience from this Gospel brings me pure happiness that nothing on this Earth could give me. I know that I am a child of God, sent here to Earth to be tested and to spiritually grow to become more like my Father in Heaven. I know that after this life here on Earth, I can return home to live with Heavenly Father and my family for eternity. The knowledge of who I am, where I came from, what my purpose is here on Earth, and where I am going after this mortal life on Earth brings me peace and assurance. I find true joy in the words spoken by the modern-day prophet and apostles. Through their words and guidance, I know Heavenly Father is directing me in what I need to work on in my life. I have a strong testimony of the power of the Book of Mormon combined with the power of prayer. There have been many experiences in my life where I need an answer to a prayer or even comfort during times of trial. Every time that I have prayed for an answer and have turned to the scriptures, particularly the Book of Mormon, I have received an answer to my prayer which affirms to me that there is a God who loves me and knows what I need in my life. Knowing that my Savior, Jesus Christ, completed the atonement in order for me to repent of my sins and return home to Heavenly Father brings me indescribable happiness which assists me with the continued desire to follow His gospel.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by attending church each Sunday, partaking of the Sacrament, attending the Temple, and reading the Book of Mormon daily. By participating in these activities, I apply the principles of the Gospel I am taught into my daily life. Through applying the principles I am taught, I strive to integrate Christ-like attributes such as charity, humility, obedience, and forgiveness, into my life which assist me in life's goal of becoming more like my Savior, Jesus Christ.
