Hi I'm Danielle Hardy

I am currently serving a mission in Washington. I'm a small town Wyoming girl who loves adventures and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm originally from Green River. Wyoming and spent my childhood running through the hills and swimming in the river having the best childhood a girl could ask for. My parents had me when they were older and although I am the youngest of five children I was raised for a lot of my childhood being the only child at home and thus, developed a very strong and unique bond with my adorable parents. These two have taught me how to work hard, love my life, and be kind to others. I have sixteen younger nieces and nephews who I love more than I can express. I enjoy running, creating pottery, writing, being with my family, playing my acoustic guitar, going on adventures, and laughing. Some of my top bucket list items are to climb the tallest peak in Wyoming known as Ganite Peak, defy gravity, be married to the man of my dreams in the temple, ride a horse bareback. I spent two years at a junior college in Wyoming playing college basketball, but I am currently attending Utah State University in Logan, Utah, majoring in Secondary English Education. I absolutely love being an Aggie and have had the best year of my life in Logan. I am currently getting ready to serve a mission in Tacoma, Washington. My best friend and I always say we “have the best lives” and I’m sincerely convinced that this is certainly true. With all this being said the gospel of Jesus Christ is the best part of me. I love the Lord. I love the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon, because the principles of the gospel help me feel fulfilled in my life. I am a Mormon because this gospel brings me true happiness. Happiness that lasts. It answers life’s questions about where we came from, where we are going and who we are. This gospel gives me a sense of direction and confidence that I don’t find anywhere else. I am a Mormon because it makes me happy, gives me purpose, and enables me to live with my family again even after death. The gospel promises that families can be together forever and that death cannot separate family ties if we are sealed together through the power of the priesthood in the Lord’s temples. Over the last year my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. This was a very difficult time in my life. It was very difficult for me as I was away at school to watch as my mom endured very painful treatments for a year. I honestly couldn’t even begin to express all the ways in which our family has been blessed by the message of the restored gospel. It gave me hope during this trial and gave me hope to know that no matter what happened we could be together forever. Children are suppose to learn from their mothers and over the past months of my mother’s treatments I have watched in amazement as I have truly seen what it looks like to “endure with patience” and to “Submit cheerfully”. The Church of Jesus Christ teaches us that Jesus Christ has endured all of our pain and I know that during this difficult time I learned about the Atonement of Jesus Christ and the pain He endured on both my mother’s behalf, as well as my own. The gospel has helped me learn these truths and I know without a doubt that my Lord and Savior knows us individually and that he has born all of our afflictions. His atonement is real. He will teach us through emotional and physical pain because he has experienced all that we have or will experience. There are miracles all around if you will but look for them.

How I live my faith

I am certainly very far from perfect, but I live my faith by my daily choices. Believing and actually living the gospel are two separate things. The gospel is more than a religion we follow, and more of a lifestyle. I do my best to be an example of the gospel standards by the way I live. I diligently try to serve others, and do my best to improve myself each and every day. As I live my faith, I know I can become more Christ-like little by little and day by day. I want to share the gospel with my friends around me because I know it to be true. It makes me who I am and is the best part of me. It is my life. The gospel brings me true happiness. A happiness that does not fade and can help me endure the trials of life. I want others to have this gospel because I have been the recipient of the most beautiful message ever known to the world and I want others lives to be blessed by the truths I know and believe. Why would I not want to share the things that make me happy? The gospel defines me and makes more of my life than I ever could on my own. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is what makes life so wonderful. I testify that by following the council given by modern day prophets and apostles we can be truly happy. The council of the prophets do not follow the fads of the world but they do follow the laws of God and if we heed their prophetic words the windows of heaven will pour out more blessings than we can receive.
